I definitely do not see Floyd as the best ever, but if you ask different people from different eras, they will all have their preference. As far as Floyd is concerned, his fights lack excitement, yes, especially after the Cotto fight. His last true dominant performance was the slashing of Arturo Gatti. His fights lack drama because he is never in trouble and makes it so easy. Those classic fights are classic because they are back and forth battles. Floyd wins his fights so easy that the opponents do not challenge him and most just give up without trying to storm him. They respect his counter shots so much that they stay on the outside and let him pick them apart for 12 rounds.

Because as of this minute he has no intention of making people think he really wants to become TBE.
After Floyd beats Golovkin he still won't get the credit he deserves. They'll cry "he didn't fight he ran lol he's boring!"

I never understood the criticism that Floyd gets for not having that exciting display, that dig deep grind out performance.
The fights that people reference in these judgments only serve to illustrate how phenomenally talented Floyd is.

These marquee fights that Hearns, Hagler, Duran, Ali, Frazier, Leonard, etc... had were as exciting as they were because that's the best they could do with their skills. If anyone of them had as much pure skill as Floyd their fights with the others would play out much different.

How can people judge Floyd because he is that much better than everyone else? You think if Hagler or Hearns would stand toe to toe and thrash each other like idiots if they were blessed with the reflexes and footwork of Floyd Mayweather? It's funny that the common denominator among-st all of them is that they all, at some point in their career lost to someone not physically more talented, but with great pure boxing skills.

Virgil Hill (regardless of the robbery) and Iran Barkley handled Hearns by outboxing him.

Wilfredo Benitez boxed the socks off of Duran
Hagler has losses to fighters that boxed better than him but should have been nowhere in his class.
Leonard did as well when he first lost to Duran, a fighter he had every advantage over, but allowed himself to be outboxed by. Granted of everyone mention save for Ali he is the only one that lost all his other fights simply do to old age.

Point being Floyd would never let that happen, he is always sharp and always 100 percent at focus in the ring. He uses every single aspect of the sport, if he can't get it done with speed, he times, he pressures when he needs, jab not working..he leads with hooks or surprise uppercuts. No other fighter of any era has ever done that. Not one fought as complete as what we see Floyd do. Even when he is badly hurt, the man has a tactic for everything. Bigger stronger men have tried to overwhelm him with size, didn't work, faster stronger men have tried to beat him to the punch, didn't work. Floyd has seen every look you can give a fighter and beat them all. Give the man his due.

You can only worry about that after the fight, what will be will be. But you still gotta try. You cant go worrying about that, you just got to do what you know you got to do.
Not trying is the worst thing.

Your asking your self a question even though it's already a statement.
But yes the guy who got smoked buy Garcia is higher on the atg list then Floyd.

                  TBE? Hardly

He held well, clinched well, and he spent a good amount of time patting opponents on the head.
