The more I think about this fight, the more amped I get. This could end up being FOTY or a candidate for it at least. Matts will have to figure Postol out as the fight progresses and should start gradually breaking him down. Expect to see subtle changes from round to round as Matts works to close the distance and land leather

Been watching a lot of Postol. None of his opponents attack the body like I expect Lucas to. He also hasn't fought any punchers, unless you count Aydin. He likes to start letting his hands go in the later rounds when his opponent is tired.

The guy is a very good boxer and he's got crazy length for 140. He would beat guys like Garcia and maybe Broner. I just don't think he will be able to deal with Matthysse's power because Viktor gets hit in there.

He was getting hit pretty easily by a club fighter inside of a small gym in one of the fights I saw.

That's what I thought as Matthysse has a relatively long reach (same as Brook and Thurman) however I think it was an respectable article I read it in.

Aydin supposedly has a 65'' reach, and he was able to land on Postol. I'm sure that Matts will land at some point. If Postol can't take a punch or doesn't have a good gas-tank, he won't win.



This version of Postol does not beat Matthysse: too upright, doesn't clinch, and doesn't maintain distance all that well against a man with shorter arms. Postol might look like Kov and fight like Wlad, but he lacks their stopping power. His biggest asset is his combination punching, but one hard counter could change that. This fight comes down to how much Matthysse has left.

No ones upset, just saying its pretty ****** to think that the underdog, who isnt particularly powerful, proven nor has he had so far much of a career, will "easily" beat the #1 guy in the division.
If Postol wins good for him. If he somehow gets a round 1 KO then more power to him. Its just VERY unlikely. If Postol wins, then you could say his career is just barely starting by beating a well known, top ranked boxer in his division. It would be his first big victory. Matthysse already had many big victories. Humberto Soto, also fighting that same night, has already been KO by Matthysse. Postol couldnt KD Demarcus Corley. Matthysse put that guy down SEVEN TIMES before KO him. If you cant see the difference between the names Matthysse fought compared to Postol then I cant help you.
Postol is no Rod Salsa, he sure is a good boxer and he can win, but he's nothing special and he sure is no killer.
Only a 5 year old can say Matthysse is "easy work" for fking Postol man, when in reality not a single person Matthysse went into the ring with had it easy in any shape or form.

I think its Postol who will have to offer an answer to what Matthysse brings. Matthysse will go after him, boxing but feeling confident in using his power to put Postol down. If Postol starts boxing and has success with it, maybe that forces Matthysse to use his skills too. Even then I think he has better ring IQ than Postol. Unless Postol is much better boxer than what he's shown so far he wont hold up the Machines assault.
