    Margarito. 5'11
    De La Hoya. 5'10-half
    GGG. 5'10-half

De La Hoya beat a Sturm, whom in his career earned a WBA, IBF, WBO and a WBA (Super) middleweight champion. Then came down like an idiot 4 years later to fight Pacquiao at the most ridiculous weight agreements... but that was just that drama.

so given those real world circumstances.

Why is that Pacquiao vs a GGG catch is completely not plausible when the circumstances provided proves to ability to promote it... the fights happened. Who's excuse do we ride?

    Fail.

Also, the size disparity between the two is huge. Manny won his first title at flyweight, while Golovkin is a career middleweight. Even Floyd is much bigger than Manny. The fight would be awful if it happened and I'd seriously fear for Manny's health. Lastly, since Manny holds no belts at 154lbs (and no belts at all for the time being) he is under no obligation to fight at a higher weightclass.
A professional boxing fan doesn't buy that... Roy Jones went from 154 to winning a heavyweight title.

Sugar Ray Robinson went to Featherweight to Light Heavyweight.

Again, people should think twice, and not just assume a thread is full of theory. There might be people out there that actually compare and prove empirical circumstances in boxing.

What about the other 7 times he [Pac] moved up in weight?

If pacquiao fought @154 for the 154 strap against margarito, then he can challenge Golovkin @160, if he's better than Floyd he'll prove it and fight Golovkin for the middleweight strap, otherwise he'll always be a distant runner up to Floyd.

Last time I checked Floyd was the one with a 154 belt, which is why GGG said he'd only drop to 154 for a fight with Floyd. Last time I checked, Pac was weighing 150 or something on fight night while Floyd was hiding his fight night weight for some reason.

It's a pointless thread tbh. As a huge fan of Floyd, most of us never wanted to see him paired up against Golovkin when people were suggesting that to be his 49th fight.

Pacquiao is not only physically smaller but he's been through so much battles in his career. Golvkin though only a few years younger is relatively fresh. Pacquiao's chin has already been broken a few times so going after a KO king at this stage of his career is suicide.

The belts are irrelevant, Golovkin would drop down to 154 for a big money fight. Manny would be a big money fight.

GGG vs Pacquiaio in 2016. Let's make it happen. Unless Pac is a ducking chicken coward.

That's how the logic works around here, isn't it?

What part of boxing are you not getting that Pacquiao has already fought and won a Light Middleweight belt?

What part of boxing do you not understand that Golovkin was willing to face Floyd at 154?

What part don't you get that there's obvious middleground and beating over some bush that people aren't wanting a GGG vs Pac bout at whatever, at 154?

What part don't you understand that K2 ignored Lara or Andrade's call to fight GGG? Do you know what weights they campaigned at when they called him out?

What picture do we have to paint? Or do the name Pac and GGG become irrelevant we only bring up Floyd?
