As much as I think merchant has always been biased, and most people at HBO are, he may be on to something.. Fishy how floyd brings ariza in and even hereida gave a couple of pointers out and then 2 fights later there's an iv scandal.... Hmmm bad timing or coincidence?? If it's one fighter that had always stay in weight or around has been floyd. Now but think about is it farfetched to say that at least 95 percent of athletes have dabbled with or done some kind of "something" to increase their game? The ones that have been named have been the ones that have gotten caught plain and simple.

Both things you say may be true at the same time: HBO/Merchant is biased, and Mayweather is "suspect." I said Floyd should be "suspect" since the day he hired Ariza! The double standard and bias shows when Merchant, Lampley, etc. said nothing about Freddie Roach's claim that Ariza gave Manny "suspect shakes," but here we have Merchant giving his opinion of an IV. HBO kept running with the narrative of "When will Floyd Mayweather fight Manny Pacquiao" totally ignoring that it was Pacquiao who left the negotiations, and why he left the negotiations! Both Floyd and Manny are part of the "95%"

Larry Merchant is a flower of masculinity and a great poet/wordsmith. Best boxing commentator in sports history. Floyd is half a man at best. Total beta.

All he did was ask honest questions that everyone else wanted answers to. Floyd isn't one to give answers to certain questions, that's why he went to Showtime so he could control the production of the TV shows (so they won't film him forcing testers to wait 5 or 6 hrs for his EPO creme to kick in) and give commentators a script to follow when asking questions.

HBO wasn't about all that, so Floyd went where he could manipulate things, that's why he likes USADA as well.

That's why he went to showtime? I'm sorry but this is totally ignorant, did u know that HBO didn't wanna extend their contract with Floyd after it ran out years before Mayweather left them and they were working on fight to fight basis? did u know that Floyd asked them for a deal similar to the one Showtime gave him and they said no and still wanted to work on fight by fight basis instead of a secure long term contract with a minimum guarantee? Showtime offered him that and then some.

Nobody got treated worse than Floyd Mayweather on HBO even though he brought them tons of money and actually created an award winning series 24/7, Floyd took promoting fights and selling personas to a different level, and still they never treated him the same way they treated other stars on the network, I can go on and on about how unfair Merchant used to hate on Floyd ever since he started his career while literally sucking Dela Hoya's balls despite him coming to fights out of shape and not giving a damn about the sport, go watch how he talked to Floyd, Roy and Hopkins and see how he talked to Dela Hoya and Pacquiao.

Larry Merchant is by far the most unprofessional commentator the sport has ever seen and this is not even a question, his personal hatred and bias against certain fighters was something he just couldn't hide, if he was to always ask bad questions to EVERY fighter and try to only point out the NEGATIVE sides of their game, I'd be fine with it, it's just his style, but when he only does it only to a certain fighter and others get a pass cuz he likes them more that's where I have the problem.

Thank god he's gona though, I used to like Jim Lampley back in the day but he also folowed the footsteps of Merchant and that's where he lost me as a fan.
