Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz Scales in 20-Pounds Lighter For Return

The weights are in for tomorrow's heavyweight showdown at the Tachi Palace in Lemoore, California. Andy Ruiz (24-0) has been out of action all of 2015, as he has focused on transforming his body and it showed.

The undefeated heavyweight prospect weighed in at 247.6 pounds, 20 pounds lighter than he weighed in his last fight which took place in December. His last minute opponent Joell Godfrey (17-14-1) tipped the scales at 210.6. He is a replacement for Delvin Vargas (18-4).

He's still fat. He needs to drop down to 220.

A 40 pound difference would have been drastic. He'd be a drained Heavyweight at 220

Maybe 230 next fight and then 220.

Ruiz will never weigh 220 Pounds and will always look fat. Hes fast and explosive for a fat guy, i think 230-240 pounds is a good range for him.
          This is no bodybuilding-contest!

Andy's got no legs to speak of, but he's got very fast hands.

Many underestimated him, and that's how he's scored his knockouts.

Coming in lighter than Klitschko now, expect some explosive combinations.

This kid is a good fighter and could go places. Bravo for having some discipline and devoting himself to a task that took him outside his comfort zone.

He's a really good fighter, but if we're being honest he's probably still carrying 40+pounds of body fat. He probably needs to lose 40 pounds of fat and gain 20+ pounds of muscle.

If he lost 40 pounds he'd need steroids to turn all that extra skin to muscle, lol.

Absolutely. Some guys are just made to be big. Ruiz would be weak at 220.
