I think he'd be at his best, CONSISTENTLY, in the 230's. So he can go ahead and do whatever he's going to do. I still don't know what to make of him as a fighter, but good for him.

Training with Abel in the mountains has hopefully matured this kid to where he has gained more respect for himself and his profession.
His body type isn't the perfect perportioned look most expect from a boxer.
Who cares what he looks like as long he comes to the ring in condition to fight hard for the duration of the bout.
The kid knows how to box and seems to be willing to fight so ring the damn bell.
From what I've seen of him I think 225-230 is ok for him. Reason being his base isn't heavy at all and he would benefit from the extra pounds so he doesn't get moved around as easily as he would at 215--220.
Hope he can get 8 to 10 fights under his belt in the next 2 1/2 years, he would benefit from that experience greatly and his body would become acclamated to the work he needs to do to become stronger with stamina.

I like Ruiz, he's got potential and a decent career going for him, good to see him not let this opportunity go to waste and try to give it his best.Comment
