Comments Thread For: Cotto's Adivser on Andre Ward: Great Progress For PPV

According to Gabriel Peñagarícano, legal adviser to WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, there has been great progress made in getting super middleweight champion Andre Ward in the co-featured position of the HBO Pay-Per-View on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Most likely this will be at light heavyweight. I see Ward going after bigger fights come 2016 and this one here will just be a "stay-busy" fight.

Rodriguez, Pascal, and Kovalev could be a very big 2016 for Andre Ward.

I think that it will be a tuneup fight, held at 170.

      172 > 170 > 168.....

But it will be against a SMW, nothing at all to do with LHW.

His last fight was supposed to be at a catchweight of 172, and he came in at just under that. Not sure if he will be at 170 for this potential fight in November.

This can be good or negative exposure for Ward, its up to him the kinda impression he wants to give to the world of his skill set.

With his size and especially his skillset, id like to see him move up. Considering what hes already accomplished at SMW, its disappointing he hasnt done so yet and i wanna see an American snatch up all those LHW titles.

isn't this a bad thing? why put someone super boring on a ppv? and right before the main event?

IMO it's a mistake to put Ward 2nd on the bill. Maybe I'm wrong, but he is boring and it's almost certain to be a non-competitive fight. Maybe if it's vs a more exciting fighter.
