Comments Thread For: Canelo Looking Better Than Ever in Camp, Says Coach

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is training like a man possessed, says his trainer Jose "Chepo" Reynoso. Canelo has already sparred 36 rounds of a planned 160 or 170 for his very important fight on the 21st of November at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Canelo will challenge Miguel Angel Cotto for the WBC middleweight championship at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

i'll believe wat i believe..and that is that canelo has abused his body at the same rate that chavez jr did..i've heard canelo is a hot head and a bit of a drinker/parlay-er....

i dont know the truth but i cant help but to think of a near retirement ali when i see that 25 year old kid hit a speed back with a flat back and no bounce...it looks like he was just aiming and circling...as if going to through the motions was too tough

never thought i'd say cotto is the fresher body when talkin about a 25 year old, but i firmly believe it

if canelo hd to do more than blow on kirkland to hurt him there was no way he was winning that fight..agreed??

I think it was 170 rounds, not pounds.

im sure they are telling sparring partners no body shots...but they cant tell cotto that..

i say that bc he's dropping to much weight and those shots only will mess things up more...when cotto see that body at the weight in im sure his first 5 power shots will be down low...

canelo's camp is top 10 the ******est of all the top camps..their fighter's body is ruined by making weight alone

just making 155 is over training for him..he was tired at the end of the kirkland fight..he admitted it..the thing lasted less than 5 round

I cant see it. Cotto is a vet who has fought everybody, that first Margarito fight took a lot out of him, I dont think hes ever been the same.

                    Kirkland was shot, and over-rated.

Canelo seems to be a beast..... personally I think the 155 issue is lame, as was the 150 issue when he was fighting at welter..... it is fkn unprofessional imho..... but Reynoso stated that they do it to preserve Canelos career and to not tax him unnecessarily.

I have some views on that fight, but I'm not gonna pick a winner
