David Lemieux is well aware of what he's up against heading into his October 17 middleweight title unification bout with Gennady Golovkin. The recently crowned titlist from Montreal is a massive underdog in a matchup of knockout artists, although it's worth noting that just about any other middleweight going up against Golovkin faces an equally challenging task.

All of this has been taken into consideration prior to agreeing to terms over the summer. There was a point where Lemieux and his team flirted with the idea of moving in another direction. David needs to keep his hands glued to both sides of his head, bob, weave, slip and counter, and be mindful of the sneaky punches on the top of the head that golovkin throws and what's coming from underneath. If golovkin throws punches on the top of the head david needs to do the same. Its important to stay close in golovkins chest and rip hard, fast, explosives shots to the body and head from rd 1 -12, because golovkin needs distance to get leverage on his punches.. If david does this we could have a very interesting fight.

I think Lemieux will give it his best shot but the more aggressive he gets, the faster the fight will end in my opinion.

Golovkin will win within 3 rounds and everyone will forget about why they ever hyped Lemieux like that. But it's still a good choice of opponent, it's an easy belt for Golovkin so the good fighters soon will be forced to fight him if they want belts.

Look for Lemieux to get over aggressive, swing too widely, lose stamina and be stopped via a merciless TKO

Then look for posters to say how much Lemieux ****** and that Golovkin needs to fight Ward to prove himself. And that if GGG gets matched up with the winner of Jacobs-Quillin and wins that fight as well then look for that win to be discredited and ****ted on as well.

I don't consider Lemieux or Jacobs to be more than okay wins. Quillin, though, especially after he has spanked Jacobs, will be the best possible win for Golovkin to get at middleweight. Canelo and Cotto are good for name values.

I think because of David's power, we'll see Golovkin use his jab more like he used to to keep distance, much like how he did with Stevens. Lemieux doesn't have anywhere near the jab Gennady does, and if he tries to use it, I see GGG countering it, which he is really good at doing. David will eventually get frustrated, whereby Gennady will start breaking him down. As I've said before, once people feel his first good body shot, they start fighting differently. With how frequently and how well his body shots are placed, it's a tough feat to take those for 12 rounds. And Lemieux tends to use the earmuffs, which will leave him a bit vulnerable.
