And you have a short memory. There were many who said that GGG might get decision-ed by Monroe as he's a slick boxer. That was Monroe's intention but he found out GGG could cut the ring off and had no respect for his power.
Stevens may not punch as hard as Lemieux but he certainly landed flush power shots on Golovkin. Golovkin's response was to wipe his nose with his forearm, reset himself and get back to pursuing his quarry.

Lemieux does have a puncher's chance here. He may even be a slightly harder puncher than Golovkin. The one think he has going for him is his hand speed may be a grade above that of GGG. But I can't get that image of Geale and GGG landing almost simultaneously out of my mind. Geale isn't the biggest of punchers but that punch would have put some MWs on the floor or at least 'ave backed them up but Golovkin just walked right through it and landed his own.

Final thought - Golovkin IS special but he is also over-hyped. He can lose against Canelo never mind Ward. If there was a Nigel Benn or Chris Eubank Sr. or Mike McCallum around in the current MW division then he would not be avoided.
Golovkin handled Canelo pretty well when they sparred, back in 2012?ish.

I like Lemieux he's an exciting fighter but I just don't see him taking anything GGG hits flush with. I guess he has a punchers chance but GGG can also box and I think we will see a more careful GGG. KO rd4 GGG

The power factor is intriguing but for me, im mostly interested in this fight from a strategy standpoint, moreso Lemieuxs and how he plans to fight GGG.

GGG is just so technically solid, well conditioned- never seen him break form and that power. Thats a scary/great combination. Thats a tough one to crack. 1st off one would need speed AND a jab just to begin the gameplan, and it would need to be carried out very precise. And thats where i see Lemieux doesnt have the tools needed but he does have power. Lemieux has to get past that GGG jab and get in position to get his shots off.

This fights gonna be fun while it lasts ill leave it at that.

I am absolutely ready for Golovkin

All of this has been taken into consideration prior to agreeing to terms over the summer. There was a point where Lemieux and his team flirted with the idea of moving in another direction. Instead, the decision was made to move forward with the most dangerous assignment awaiting any middleweight today.

“I am absolutely ready for Golovkin,” Lemieux (34-2, 31KOs) promises. “There is not a single doubt in my mind, and I would not have taken the fight if there was.” [Click Here To Read More]

Then look for posters to say how much Lemieux ****** and that Golovkin needs to fight Ward to prove himself. And that if GGG gets matched up with the winner of Jacobs-Quillin and wins that fight as well then look for that win to be discredited and ****ted on as well.
            Maybe half of them will.

The other half will paint Lemieux as a killer to make Golovkin look good.

The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Whoever thinks Lemieux no chance is totally wrong, if GGG would take another approach to the fight and concentrate on not being hit and just win by outboxing Lemieux, that would be a different thing, but thats not GGG. Even though GGG takes a measured approch in the first 1-2 rounds, GGG's style is mexican style, he will hit Lemieux but he will also be hit, GGG will not be careless but his style is very aggressive and Lemieux has greatly improved in the last couple fights, he has the same ko ratio as GGG and is an extremely strong puncher. GGG always wants to entertain the fans and even though he could fight differently he just likes to trade and go to war, he likes the challenge, i think GGG will maybe box a little more but he will also take alot of risks and his chin will be tested.

Great fight, cant wait for it, its on free tv here in Germany/Austria/Switzerland btw.

This guy has balls. He actually believes in himself it's good to see. He could spring an upset but I expect GGG to break him down and score a late round stoppage.

Three years is a long time, and sparring is just sparring.

Also, that was a MW fighting a JMW.

IMHO, Canelo will not fight GGG without a considerable catchweight, or until after he has officially moved to 160 and had time to acclimate. I could be wrong.

The current trend among god-awful fkn ignorant casual fans is to label Canelo a middleweight, just because he fights at 155 out of entitlement.

Best believe that Canelo will be a better match for Golovkin at MW.

And by MW, I mean exactly that, 160.... so, once he has officially moved to 160, adjusted his training schedule accordingly, and attended full camps where he has the opportunity to prepare for a fight at the maximum limit of 160.

He will then weigh 160 and be much stronger/sturdier, not 155.

I wouldn't give him much more than a punchers chance.

This is not a pickem fight, or even close.
