SMW is pretty terrible if inept, washed up Abraham is #1. He got a robbery win over some guy called Shihepo a few years ago, and quit vs so so Stieglitz. The you got Badou Jack top 3, and he got KOed in 1 vs Derek Edwards, and drew with Periban, which is worse than Lemieux' losses. Got a gift dec vs some colombian brawler on Shobox too.

SMW is the 4th most dangerous weight class to be in. There is a 66% chance Ward gets stopped in SMW. There is a 56% chance GGG gets stopped at MW. MW is beaten by Minimumweight, where there is a 49% of getting stopped, the safest weight classes to be in. Minimum and Middleweight.

Doesn't sound right. You got big punchers GGG, Lemieux, Lee, Quillin, Stevens, solid punchers Jacobs, Canelo, Cotto, Rubio till recently.

Stevens is not a top 10 MW contender.
Rubio is not a top 10 MW contender.
Quillin is not a big puncher.
Canelo is not a top 10 MW contender.
Furthermore, you have weak punchers like N'Dam, Saunders, Geale and Soro bringing down the weight class KO average.

I assume you're just taking KO ratios and determing how dangerous a division is based on that but it doesn't work. You could flip it around and try to say divisions with higher stoppage frequency are chinny or something.

If you've taken a statistics class you know the way you word a statistical sentence can change it's meaning and saying "X has a Y chance of being stopped" would be a failing grade. The overall KO ratio of a division's top 15 or whatever has zero correlation to the odds of a particular fighter in that division being stopped because those ratios aren't calculated against other top 15 fighters in the sample group.

Anyway Ward isn't at 168 anymore.

The stats are meaningful because a low KO ratio collectively(2nd lowest), means that the weight class is in FACT weak. Not an opinion, but in fact, a weak division. It's not a hateful opinion, it's an actual stat backed up by numbers. It is the second safest division to be in. Golovkin's chances of getting KO'ed is 56%, it is the second lowest KO ratio in boxing. Therefore Middleweight is one of the weakest divisions, it is the second weakest precisely. Unfortunately, the fighters do not make up for their lack of power in skill either. So it's weak and doesn't have very skilled fighters.

Both Rubio and Stevens were top 10 till GGG thumped them. Canelo is the next likely MW champ. Either way, GGG, Lemieux, Lee, Quillin, even Stevens, bigger p4p punchers than anyone top 10 at SMW, though Quillin is switching sides.

No. You would absolutely fail out of an intro statistics class for saying this.

KO ratio is not an isolated variable. You would have to develop a better algorithm that actually took into account who the fighters KO'd to figure out how "dangerous" they are.

Appreciate the effort but if you do the math improperly your stats are completely utterly useless.
