Sure. Timing is great. I'd hate it for DeGale to take the Deontay Wilder route.

He got hurt in the very last round of the fight where he was tired, I wouldn't necessarily say that proved he had no chin.

So unless he fights the consensus number 1 in the division and one of the top fighters in the world in his first defence, it's the Deontay Wilder route?

Very lofty standards indeed. I wish you'd apply these to some of the fighters you support.

4 years? He beat Edwin Rodriguez in 2013.

Edwin Rodriguez was coming off of brutalizing Denis Grachev in 1 round. The guy who took Erdei and Sillakh's 0's, and probably shoud have gotten a draw against Bute. After the Rodriguez beating, Grachev has not been the same fighter. Good win for Ward IMO, over a top 10 SMW.

Bute was blasted out by Froch in 5 rounds and has never looked the same since. Life n death with Glazkov in his following fight. Gun shy and comfortably beaten by Pascal.
I say on par because Bute while fought very carefully matched opposition, he did look really good, BUT is a dinosaur. Chaves is young, but couldn't take care of Rios, which for someone of his skill set was possible.

The general pattern for fighters winning their first belt is to recoup the lifetime worth of money and effort by taking a voluntary like this one. However, we shall wait and see how it goes from here.

No, we know why YOU would say "on par". Stop it.

Chaves was taking care of Rios until the bogus DQ and fought competitively with Bradley/Thurman.

Bute has not been competitive against elite fighters. He's probably on par with Devon Alexander or something.

He was already KO'ed in the amateurs by GGG.

DeGale wins, maybe even by stoppage if he's on point.

Be a shame if this fight wasn't in England.

Definitely not going to be in the UK.

Don't understand the complaints this is a very winnable fight for Bute

I see Bute stopping degale in 9 rounds he won't be gunshy vs dégale,I'd say Bute is a better fighter than Andre dirrel at this present time but has better timing and a fast left hand just probably not as good recovery as Dirrel if hurt
