I think America gots a thing for foreign guys who talk all cute & **** & can be destructive in the ring. Its like watching a killer teddy bear, he'll destroy a guy in the ring & than have an adorable lil catch phrase that'll make you chuckle during the post-fight interview..."Mexxkaan Stttyllll". Manny was the ground breaker with TR laying the foundation & now I see GGG & K2 attempting to get the same audience along with trying to excite the Mexican boxing base. Although now that I think about it you can probably can throw Tito Trinidad in that mix to who I was a fanboy of back in the day & who while pre-Pacquiao never had the level of popularity as Pacquiao while still being pretty mainstream popular.
For all the crap GGG gets for his resume, Wilder's resume would play more like the resume of a dum dum boxer who's career has been manufactured by a Don King-like promoter in a movie than the resume of a real boxing champion. No guy who's been gifted a title like Wilder has will ever have more fans than antifans among the hardcore boxing community.Comment
