Comments Thread For: Warren: Whyte May Last as Long as Cornish With Joshua

Anthony Joshua’s so-predicable one-round felling of Gary Cornish to acquire the Commonwealth title told us nothing new about the young man Wladimir Klitschko reckons he is the best heavyweight prospect in 25 years.

We always knew he could punch, but we still don’t know if he can take a whack.

It is easy to dismiss the giant undefeated Scot called The Highlander as a Cornish patsy, but he was supposed to provide the still-learning Joshua with his most rigorous examination yet.

My understanding of when Joshua was stopped he wasn't badly hurt, just had no experience at the time. He's since went to war at the worlds and Olympics and not had a problem so I reckon he can take a punch....(but you never really know until they are hit)

i can not see White going past 3 he is far to easy to hit, after this i expect Joshua will fight Chisora, he would make Warren and Chisora a load of money, but Warren would have to let it be on Sky

He said be wants to fight the bloke who knocked out price for the european title next (whose gonna fight helenius) he'd be more of a test than a shot Chisora. A peak del boy (vs vitali/helenius version) would have been a decent test

I think Whyte drags him into 6-8th round in a dirty fight but Joshua power will tell by the end of it.

Whyte looks average. Some nice body shots, but not much else.

AJ should stop him in 4.

Whyte surprised me with some nice tools. He has a good left hook & a nice body attack but I'm not sure if he will last long against AJ as he looked so easy to hit. I will take into account that Minto came to a gunfight with a knife & his punches clearly had no effect. Whyte walked right through Minto's punches which he won't be able to do with Joshua. Let's see what happens.

Its best not to expect too much from Whyte, because when we expect them to test AJ, the exact opposite happens.
If we think AJ stop whyte in the first round, Whyte may actually go on to surprise us, and take AJ a few rounds or so.
