This is what I dont understand. How can injecting saline water into your veins do more for dehydration than just drinking the water?

The Vitamin c and saline is injected directly into the blood stream so there is no need for the body to go through the process of breaking things down. The sugar and salts will go directly into the stream and the unnecessary salts and water will come out in the urine. Now if he hadn't taken a urine test recently before that it would have really been su****ious, but as long as the USADA investigator verified that the solution was saline and vitamin c, it is all good.
and let's remember, the IV is a drip, and it will be hooked up for hours. It is not like drinking a bottle of water.

This kills Hauser's article. Guess you shouldn't create an article based of adding fictional details to known info from 4 months ago.

Pretty damn weak in my opinion. Hauser quotes documents sources etc. most of this crap from USADA is pure hyperbole. Take how they address the Morales issue.

USADA

is unclear what Mr. Hauser is suggesting by this statement, but to the extent he is accusing USADA of covering up doping violations by athletes who have participated in USADA testing programs or who are represented by promoters who have contracted with USADA to conduct testing programs, USADA forcefully and unequivocally denies that charge. There is no truth or facts to support such a purely outrageous and speculative attack.

As explained in more detail below, the Erik Morales situation has been completely inaccurately reported by Mr. Hauser, even though Mr. Hauser was given accurate facts and an accurate timeline before his story was published. Very unprofessionally, Mr. Hauser’s published story failed to even acknowledge facts provided by USADA that contradicted Mr. Hauser’s claims

Okay lets see the meet and potatoes

On Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, the website Halestorm Sports reported that Morales had tested positive for a banned substance. Thereafter, Golden Boy and USADA engaged in damage control. (¶ 35)

By then, both fighters, the promoter, and the New York State Athletic Commission(NYSAC) had already all been advised by USADAof Mr. Morales' positive test. The results had also already been reported to WADA by sample number directly by the laboratory. There was no “damage control.” Both prior to and following the public disclosure of Mr. Morales’ positive test, USADA appropriately followed the procedures for the results management and adjudication of the potential anti-doping ruleviolation.

Pursuant to the results management authority under its rules, USADA commenced an anti-doping rule violation proceeding against Mr. Morales that resulted in the athlete being sanctioned with a two year period of ineligibility

Notice that they dont say which test? The positive A sample in the third test or the positive A & B samples in the previous test. You will notice this thread of omission in the entire USADA response.

an Rafael of ESPN.com spoke with two sources and wrote, “The reason the fight has not been called off, according to one of the sources, is because Morales’ ‘A’ sample tested positive but the results of the ‘B’ sample test likely won’t be available until after the fight. ‘[USADA] said it could be a false positive,’ one of the sources with knowledge of the disclosure said.” (¶ 36)

There are multiple inaccuracies with this report. USAD A did not tell anyone that a clenbuterol finding could be a “false positive.” USADA had separate conversations with Golden Boy Promotions, Mr. Morales, Danny Garcia, and the NYSAC about the possibility that the positive could have been caused by the athlete’s ingestion of contaminated meat as well as the possibility that it was caused by the intentional ingestion of the prohibited substance.

This is good USADA says that they never said it could be a false positive only that he could have eaten something that caused the postive.

So we can easily see that USADA is already spinning like a top. 'We didnt' say false positive. We said he could have gotten it from something he ate'. Which is the very definition of a false positive.

This information is incorrect. By the afternoon of Friday, October 19, 2012, USADA had reported out to the NYSAC the A and B sample results for the October 3 sample and the preliminary A sample results for the October 10 and October 16 samples. Clenbuterol was detected in three of the four samples that had been reported by the laboratory to USADA by that time.

Notice that they only say Friday afternoon. Was this before or after Keith's story. They dont say. They hope you assume that its before. But they dont say it is. They just want you to jump to that conclusion.

This goes on and on.

The issue Hauser brings up with the Morales issue is primarily that USADA lied to the press on October 18th. If you look at USADA's response they totally sidestep that point. At no time in this long run of hyperbole do they ever address the lying to the press.

The fact remains that on October 18th USADA lied to ESPN and SI claiming that only an A sample had tested positive when in fact A and B samples had tested positive twice.

That is all you need to know period. When faced with a problem USADA lied to the press. Therefore, you cannot believe a word they say.

Sure the officer monitored the IV. Just like you told us that only Morales A sample had tested positive. Sure it was administered by a paramedic. Just like you told us that only Morales A sample had tested positive.

Please refer to my earlier post with the link to wada IV rules. Hauser ONLY reported 1/3 the rule. He left out the one that allow you to go over the 50ml amount without being in a hospital as long as you apply for the TUE.

Funny all I read was only 50 ml in a 6 hour period or unless it was for a medical emergency ..Agin did Floyd have a medical emergency and its to be administered at a medical facility ..Uh no so what he took was illegal !

You can also go over 50ml according to wada IV rules. They left that out in Hauser story. He only listed one rule. Not the other two which addresses Ivs with banned substances.

Still no explanation why the TUE was granted; no medical justification for the 750ml IV other than Floyd was dehydrated, which no one is buying.

All this tells me is that Floyd can do what he wants and USADA will bend the WADA rules for him.

You guys are seriously choosing to just ignore facts right before your eyes. But I suppose this is the part where someone will say something along the lines of "USADA is in Fraud's pocket anyway so it doesn't matter."

That anyone thinks that Mayweather has the money to buy one of the foremost anti-doping organizations in the world is truly baffling. That anyone thinks that USADA would risk their reputation protecting a guy who just retired is kinda ******ed.
