Anyway, yes, they are. Are you going to try and tell me that Hagler and Hopkins' opposition was much better? Maybe one or two guys, but they had come up from as low as 118 and 130 (Duran and Oscar respectively, or Tito/Hearns from 140) and wouldn't stand a chance against a full fledged, modern middleweight with the skill and power of GGG. Not to mention that GGG would have absorbed and learnt the skills from those earlier fighters and would do everything they do even better now.
You think GGG, crushing top, full 160 pound champions of today like Geale, Murray (whipped P4P rated Martinez but got robbed), would have trouble with guys coming up from bantamweight, sr featherweight and jr welterweight?
Hagler lost to a former welterweight who hadn't fought in six years!!! GGG would have walked Leonard down and crushed him within ten rounds. A few well placed body shots, cutting the ring off before he can move out, then easily finishes a tired, past it, part time fighter.
Or what about guys like Hamsho, Mitchell (loss), Monroe (loss), Joppy, Watts (loss) and Mercado (should have lost, knocked down twice)? They are below the level of the top champions like Geale and Murray etc that GGG is easily destroying. Hagler and Hopkins lost to guys of that level. GGG knocks all of those bums out within a few rounds each. Unlike both of those supposed ATG's, GGG has stayed undefeated against that caliber of fighter while those two both lost fights to those guys. From there, you have that small jump to the Duran's, Hearns, etc, but they are just too small and unskilled for someone of GGG's size, power and skill. If Hearns nearly put Duran out cold, GGG would send him into early retirement.
If light punching Hopkins is stopping Oscar on a weak body shot, imagine what a GGG body shot would do. It would burst his liver, pancreas, spleen, gallbladder, appendix, and rupture his other organs or break multiple ribs. The guy is a straight killer to the body and no former sr featherweight or jr welterweight is going to stand up to such eastern block power and body punching skill. He is modern boxing's Body Snatcher with even more skill and power because he's watched and absorbed the skills of all the guys from previous eras and put them into one ultimate boxing package.
GGG TBE 160.

Some people make breakthrough early, some late. Let them do their bits before we give them due okay?
