  • All Floyd posse has is excuses, if it was the same size Canelo though

Floyd is a small welterweight who doesn't even weigh in at 154 lbs when he has fought at that weight. GGG would simply be too big and too powerful for Floyd but of course none of this makes any sense to the Floyd haters, he is just "ducking" Golovkin
But Floyd is TBE, and he says he could beat GGG. Yea right.

GGG started his career at WW, just not professionally, which he started late. As am he started as WW. Besides, Floyd is no longer so small. He seemingly has issues with making 147.

Financially it makes sense but career wise he will avoid fighting a true 160lb world champ since alvarez has never fought at 160(including his title fight versus Cotto) and Cotto owes Golovkin his mandatory fight. Then they will say that Cotto/Canelo are is better than golovkin and that mayweather will fight at 160 for that fight.
Mayweather isn't getting a step aside from GGG. And no one would buy him fighting a guy who never actually fought at MW, who he already best, while ducking GGG. Mayweather gets zero respect for taking that route, and GGG gets nothing for not just having the belt striped before it can happen.

    I don't see that happening.

    looooooooool
Right! Wards a LHW, who brings no belt, no money, no fame, and a unfriendly style of fighting.

GGG doesn't weigh 173 on fight night. And he is 5'10. Floyd was taller than Manny, but I'm sure that wasn't an issue for you.

Ward had two chances to face GGG. Ward couldn't meet at 164, but Ward had no problem bringing Dawson down. Now GGG has surpassed him in popularity. So it make zero sense for GGG to go up there now.

If he beats Ward, it only provides Floyd, Cotto, Alverez, Lee, even more excuses to duck him.

Floyd goes up 5, GGG comes down 5, well not even, GGG weighed 157 last weigh in, they wouldn't be pretty dang close on fight night.

For Ward GGG would need to come up, or else Ward would have 15-20 pounds on him.

No way GGG goes up right now to fight a guy who has blown his own career to pieces.

Ward was stripped of his P4P for a reason.

Ward said he would fight Kovalev, and he's had a tune-up at LHW already. About time he either agrees to fight Krusher or puts his fans out of their misery by telling them it's never going to happen.
I agree Ward should fight Kovalev or Stevenson because GGG does not want any of that at all! I really don't know what GGG will do after Lemieux? He's not getting Haymon fighters like Jacobs, Quillen, or Lara, and Canelo and Cotto are in no rush to fight him, unless he comes to 155. So what's left for GGG?[/QUOTE]

Agreed, Ward was a LHW in Olympics, he has always been fighting below his natural weight, just like Canelo.

If you agree he should move up next because all three would EASILY beat and fight him. Call him a coward for not moving up! If he is not a coward for not facing those bigger guys please be quiet
Ward is a LHW, he just fought at 172. And he had two chances to fight GGG, and refused both. Ward can make Dawson come down to 168, but Ward himself couldn't come down 4 pounds to fight a popular fighter.

And when GGG does move on to 168, suddenly Ward will want it to be at 175.

That's a damn lie. Ward has always drained himself to fight SMW. Ward was a LHW in the Olympics.

Ward even admitted he walks around at 180. And he rehydrates to at least 185, probably closer to 190.

GGG isn't going to rebuild Ward's career.

Ward was stripped of his P4P for good reason.

      • If Spinks, Ouma, and Cotto can challenge a middleweight then why can't the ATG do it? Let's be real, Floyd was never going to do what even Cotto did which was to lift that title from Martinez. He was forced to fight the midget Pac because his reputation was going to take a real hit if he didn't submit to it. That said, I give him a pass because Golovkin for 33 is lacking big names on his resume therefore nobody knows who he is, though I don't know how he can fight a some-body if nobody will fight him.

And how old is GGG? Is he in his 20's or just coming into his prime? No. He's from Kazakhstan and it was a lot harder for him to get the attention and respect from an American crowd. Floyd had that because of his amateur career and Haymon promotion behind him. Floyd has never been in a war or taken big damage in any of his fights and according to the GGG haters, Golovkin has never been in any decent fights either so what's the big deal? Mayweather is obviously juicing and has the judges, the ref and everything else on his side and GGG would fight Mayweather at JMW, a weight class that Mayweather holds world titles in. The only possible reason for this fight not happening is Mayweather would not be able to handle the possibility of a loss or even worse, a knock out.
Anyone who says GGG is way too big for Mayweather should watch some fights from the first half of the 20th century and observe the huge weight differences between boxers who are middleweights to light heavyweights fighting full blown heavyweights without question. Dempsey, Tunney, Schmeling, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, etc. etc. were light heavyweight to cruiserweight at best and regularly fought for heavyweight titles.
The weight/size argument against this fight happening is completely moot.

It's funny how any reply from a Mayweather fan typically consists of one intellectually limited and inarticulate sentence, providing no argument or details to support their views. It would seem that an uneducated, ignorant, self righteous boxer such as Floyd attracts the same type of fan base.
I actually couldn't care less if Floyd never loses. His career has been perfectly orchestrated to avoid being in the position where he has the possibility to lose. It's sad that boxing fans like yourself have been fooled so easily into thinking he is the best of all time because of his choice of opponents and the corruption inside and outside the ring to give him all the advantages possible, regardless of any rules or regulations supposedly dictating otherwise.
I'm not dumb enough to buy Mayweather ppv cards in the hopes that he loses. The majority of his championship fights have been setup for his opponent to fail, regardless of how good they perform in the ring.
It's remarkably obvious how much Mayweather cheats and not only gets away with it but is able to convince his incredibly naive and gullible fans that he always wins fair and square and deserves every victory on his record.
I'm actually very happy that Mayweather is near the end of his career so that more respectful, exciting and legitimate boxers can get the attention that he has hoarded for years with his boring, jab and grab, defensive style.

                • Floyd has had a nice career for the average man. But if Floyd wants to be the greatest he has to reach his latent potential. If his latent potential is being able to beat GGG, he needs to fight him. He will be greater than he is now, if he can beat GGG at middleweight.

But if he don't that's fine, he will has had a nice career and he is bordering top 20 ATG.

But Floyd needs to say he cant beat GGG, then people will ease up putting pressure on Floyd. No good Senior saying it.

                  • Terrible Fight

This is a TERRIBLE Fight Match-up.

First Mayweather is a natural 147lbs and GGG probably should be fighting at 168lbs.

Second (I love watching GGG in action) Slow footed fighters HAVE ZERO CHANCE against Mayweather. This fight would be identical to the Robert Guerrero bout. Mayweather jab-move-pop-move-spin-turn-clinch-REPEAT for 12-Rounds. GGG does not have the skill set to break Floyd.

GGG needs to clean out 160 and make his move to 168 and 175.
