No he doesn't. Whoever is losing the fight IMO needs to do what they can to try and win. If its Floyd losing then he needs to step on the gas, if its the other guy, its on him.

Let's take Floyd out of the equation. You and others would NEVER suggest a guy with a big lead in a fight risk losing in any other situation-you'd be yelling for the guy losing to step up and fight.

First of all the fight between Manny vs FLoyd was close. Rounds that went for Floyd could have and in some cases should have gone to Manny.

Without taking into account Manny's arm issue, Manny and his team thought that they were in this fight. Vegas judges thought to give it to the Vegas home town guy.


As for your comment, not really. If there is a disparity, as a fan, I do not want the winner or the loser running away from the action. The winner should be trying to finish the opponent off and the loser should try to get back in the fight.
This is why I said in the other thread "WAR" and "FLOYD" do not belong in the same sentence.

I don't think that Floyd finishing with a **** against Berto would have been reckless. In fact, I was surprised @ how easily he rocked him. We all know how Floyd can be there and yet not be there, so he could have still ended safely without running away @ the end. Showboating is better appreciated after a fighter has struggled at some point in the fight, then fought valiantly to take charge. Floyd's showboating disappointed me, not because I hoped Berto would catch him, but because I felt Floyd could have quieted his critics by ******* Berto up a bit, if not Ko'ing him. It would have stated for me that Floyd was toying with him & could kick his ass @ any time.

We agree that it wasn't really necessary, especially since this wasn't like a huge win or a big upset. Floyd was just trying to milk a few cheers.

Stop whining about May 2nd. Manny lost. He was behind and didn't fight the way he needed to win. He wasn't hurt. Get over it.

Winner and loser are past tense, those words imply the fight is over. We are talking about what happens during a fight up to its completed.

If a fight plays out and one guy has a lead and the fight isn't exciting how does it become exciting? IMO, if the guy losing does all he can to try and get a KO win the fight will become exciting because :

a-he gets the KO win
b-he gets caught trying for the Ko win and gets KO'd himself
c-loses on the cards but gave a great effort

You whine whena guy you like is getting his ass boxed off so you want the guy winning to fight in a way that gives your guy a chance to win and are deflecting to "excitement" rather than just admitting what you really want.

Earn a win, don't beg the other guy to give it to someone you like.

I see your point. But it's not like Floyd takes the fight to anyone. Fact is, there are still two people in there. To say that Floyd doesn't need to do anything is nonsense.

Now you can say well thats how Floyd fights and everyone who is watching should know that he's all defense. Personally I have never paid to watch him fight because he's boring. But I respect his talent and all hes done for boxing.

But he IS doing something: continuing to bank rounds in fights where he is ahead. He not in there pulling a DLH/Tito (Baldomir fight, maybe).

What? Manny said it was boring just like everyone else said about Saturday's fight. So to say that I'm deflecting to "excitement" is a joke.


Manny wasn't hurt? True, Floyd never hurt Manny. Thanks for staying objective. Manny was hurt for other reasons and required surgery. You have no evidence that Floyd was drained and you are going with that lie.

Pacquiao's my boy and all, but watching Mayweather vs Berto was almost as boring as watching Mayweather vs Pacquiao. The big difference is, I expected the outcome of the former, but was terribly disappointed & utterly disgusted by the outcome of the latter.

]f Floyd is behind on the cards (like he was Maidana 1 and Castillo 1) and doesn't fight to win, its not on whoever is ahead to try and KO Floyd its on Floyd to fight harder and take risks to get the win.

The reason Maidana 1 and Castillo 1 were exciting was the same reason the cotto and hatton fights were exciting-the guy losing on the cards kept fighting hard and stepped it up to try and win.

The reason the canelo, guerrero and Manny fights ****** is because the guy trailing never went balls out to win.

Floyd was never down on the score cards for Castillo, the atrocious score cards would later prove that. And if Floyd was down in the Maidana 1 card it coukdve fooled me, because AGAIN the dodgy judging would indicate there wasn't any chance he was behind.

The only thing that changed in Maidana 1 was Maidana himself. He gassed out, and Floyd fought his same old fight. Maidana is like throwing paint to the side of a barn, it's impossible NOT to hit him so I can see how you being far left wing pro Floyd have came to the conclusion that Floyd was forced to pick up the tempo to mount a comeback win, which like I said, we know was never the case provided all three judges cards...it was mathematically impossible Floyd was ever losing .

The scores were land slides in Floyd's favor...that's when I knew judging a Mayweather fight is pointless, and should only be done for entertainment in your living room.
