Even if Mayweather did something illegal, does it even matter?

I don't like this, "everybody is on them" rubbish. It diminishes what is likely legitimate achievements from guys like Wlad, Pacquiao and co.
Let's talk about the guys who are suspected with evidence backing up those su****ions...guys like fat Toney, Mosley, Mayweather and several others. The Mayweather issue has been on going for many years now and this isn't the first time that an American athlete has been protected by so called anti-doping agencies, these cover ups go all the way back to the 1980s at the very least.
But to say "they all do it" diminishes the value of legitimate achievements, cheapens the argument and makes the person saying it sound like someone who doesn't have a clue.Comment

The biggest problem with all this is it happened in May. All the people who'd be handing out a punishment knew this in May. It was reported in the news in May. Now in September, cuz Thomas Hauser wrote a story he bit off from articles printed in May, some fans are saying its an issue. If this was really an issue it'd been handled in May by the people that knew about it in May. No one who's able to punish Mayweather is gonna do it after 4 months of not acting like it was a problem.Comment

Why would a commission make a fight a NC in September when they knew the facts about it in May & were okay with it? Hauser wrote an article about **** that had been googleable since May & somehow the facts in May have changed now? I think people are being fooled into thinking Hauser broke new news. Everything Hauser wrote was widely available information from May 2015 or before (outside of a few quotes from calls he made iirc, but nothing earth shattering there either except confirming things already said iirc). You can't change a fight to a NC cuz a guy wrote an article about some **** people knew already.Comment

I don't think crimes outside of the ring should matter, but cheating should. Not that Margarito has much chance of making the HOF, but his wraps incident should be enough to keep him out if he did.Comment

You're so wrong it's not even funny. Backlash is everything, the NSAC. If the NSAC feel they are in the line of fire than USADA and Mayweather will be the scape goats. Why would a commission make a fight a NC in September when they knew the facts about it in May & were okay with it? If people protest than action will be taken. But if everyone is meek about it than nothing will happen.
But to honestly answer the question Floyd should pay a hefty fine in the 9 figures, plus have many of his fights turned to NC. Plus be barred from being inducted in the HOF.
Anyone who doesn't think Floyd cared about legacy is crazy, he just knows he doesn't have do much to be inducted and be considered an all time great.Comment
