Unless things changed since when Schaefer was in the company, that was apparently the split that he picked up off of the Alvarez-Angulo PPV (there was a slight bit of hysteria when it was reported that Canelo was only guaranteed $1.5m for the fight, which Schaefer had to explain to "put out the fire"; can't find a link at the moment).

Because, at this point in his career, what does Golden Boy actually offer for Canelo?

I'm definitely on board with why does Canelo even need any GBP deal or ANY promoter multi fight deal at this point with his name so preaching to the choir on that.

I'm just surprised with the cut thats being thrown out, but maybe that is the more standard cut for guys at the Canelo & higher level of popularity. I don't think its something thats throw out very often for very many guys. And I suppose its nothing I've put much though into either so just caught me by surprise I suppose, of course assuming it is correct.

Randomly I'd love to see what sort profit margins a promotion is working on typically or going for for all level of fights they put on. I don't anticipate anyone will be opening up their books anytime soon doe, but it'd be interesting to know & see.
