And yes, some fighters are very unhappy. And the fighters who are unhappy with the ban, are the juicers and the competitors who use IV rehydration for the sole purpose of gaining a weight advantage. The types of fighters who don't believe in competing on a level playing field.
But, there are also some fighters who agree with the ban.
It may not be boxing, but because UFC is a combat sport with weight classes, I do believe this development holds merit in this discussion and sheds some light on why people may have a problem or call foul play on Mayweather's part for using the IV.Comment

It's NSAC issuing the ban on IV use, and yes, the ban will be for UFC fighters.

Many fighters are unhappy with it in MMA because most of them do it. It's a parallel with professional boxing also, as you indicated, since most professional fighters rehydrate that way. Enabling most to fight in weight classes they don't really belong in.Comment

You sure it's NSAC? Link me if you can. Thanks.

But I personally don't care which agency is responsible for what. I just thought it was very interesting that IV use for rehydration became such a rampant and controversial practice in combat sports, that whichever authority had the power, saw it fit to issue a ban of it's use in combat sports.

Actually, I am not sure if it's NSAC. My source that it was NSAC was BJ Penn in my news feed on Facebook.

But on second thought, it's really hard to say. Because the UFC seems to have staff that are very much against it as well. And that could be the reason for it more than anything else.Last edited by radioraheem; 09-26-2015, 04:42 PM.Comment
