Comments Thread For: David Price's Future Undetermined, Says Sauerland

The future of Olympic bronze medal winner David Price (19-3, 16KOs) is still undetermined.

After suffering back to back knockout losses to Tony Thompson in 2013, he became a free agent after his promoter Frank Maloney stepped away from the sport.

Rather than sign with anyone in the UK, Price inked a promotional agreement with German powerhouse Sauerland Event, who promote fighters from several countries and in recent years have expanded their reach into the UK market by signing George Groves and Anthony Ogogo among others.

Price probably would do better if he started grabbing and holding up close, like Wlad.

He would also do better if he put some force and power into his left jabs, like Wlad.

His future most definitely is certain. If he fights on he get's KO'd by a bum and if he stays retired he get's KO'd by a particularly heavy leaf falling from a sycamore tree in autumn time. Price needs to be wheeled around the place Hannibal lecture style with that mouth guard on to protect that atrocious fraudulent sand castle he has hanging off the end of his face.

He is just a guy trying to make a living like the rest of us. No need to try to sound clever at his expense. It's boxing, someone gets knocked out. It happens.

Khan is another British boxer who suffered from a less than rock solid chin. He moved to Virgil Hunter and seems to be doing OK since. Why not go see Virgil? It's not like Price has a lot to lose...

He could still fight on at a certain level. He could do well at a certain level. You just feel he will fall short when he steps up against punchers or guys a level above.

Price panics in the ring. His inner game is shot. He doesn't need a trainer, he needs a psychologist.

Sauerland has no clue. Contrary to Wlad Price has no heart. You saw it in the Teper fight from the first bell. Price's problem is between his ears....

Exactly this! His jab was awful in the Teper fight, so feeble and weak it just showed how little confidence he had in it. Whether it's a combination of confidence issues or nerves he needs a seasoned trainer to get the best out of him before he loses it for good. Shame really!

They should go ahead and make Price vs Joshua and Price vs Fury (after he gets bashed by Wlad). Then let him retire with those nice pay checks.

It's a nice idea but I think Joshua could actually kill him.
