    very good win, but still a product mostly of jones' deterioration.
    I was comparing Tarver to other fighters, he doesn't have the most athletic style, and beating Jones the way he did was still impressive, yeah Roy wasn't at his best but still, no average could do that to Roy at the time.

      The younger the better. Just starting to box at 25 is really a handicap. An average boxer is at his fastest and strongest between age 24 to 29. If you start young then you have lots of experience when you hit your physical peak. The great Mayweather was boxing from age 6. Trinidad, Oscar and Vargas were world champs by age 20. GGG and Hopkins got off to late starts as pros. GGG turned pro late and Hopkins was in prison. They both did great but would have done much more with a younger start.
