Oh yeah and for the record, I am a fan of Floyd Mayweather, as I am of most athletes and people in general I have respect for, and I think he is legitimately one of the best fighters of his generation, and surely the best fighter of the past decade.
I rate Oscar higher all time.
That might be a minority opinion.
I've watched all of Oscar's fights, too.
Oscar fought everybody, at their prime, and he won the fights.
He tested himself.
Oscar is higher than Floyd all time, in my opinion. Floyd is up there, as well.
Floyd can't hold a candle to Robinson.Comment

Last point, for that guy's edit.
Yes Leonard fought Hagler at the end of his career. But he moved up in weight to do it, and Hagler was an absolute killer.
The decision is still controversial. Leonard legitimately won, on the cards, but it was a damn close fight.Comment

If you really watched his career you would know that he fought a lot of credible fights since his move from 130. The Pac fight was the closest vegas spread in Mayweather's career.
I haven't made one comment in this thread saying Mayweather is "TBE" or anything of that nature. I'm just pointing out that some of you dudes are so ridiculously self absorbed to promote your opinion and agenda as fact.
You're an imbecile because you can't tell the difference between facts and your personal opinions. You can't be objective about the situation because your emotions cloud your judgment. You my friend aren't worth the time of day.
End of story.Comment

But who has a better resume that is actively boxing? I just bodied you againComment

He straight up said he picked him at the right time. A welter (who is regarded as one of the absolute best) had to wait for the right time to move up 2 divisions. Mayweather has fought in 5 weight classes. Be objective. Why do I have to spell this out for you...aren't you claiming you watch boxing and are a serious fan???
Edit:
The voice of serious boxing fans is a hypocrit, that's just funny.
Double edit:
Your point on Hagler being a killer is so moot. Manny was #2 p4p and everyone was still begging for the fight. It's easy to talk about fights after the fact but if Manny wasn't a legit contender the Vegas spread would have definitely reflected this. Vegas most always sets lines accordingly in sporting events.
Triple Edit:
Leonard also fought Hagler in a "boring style" attempting to steal rounds at the end by flurries. "Running" for the beginning parts of the rounds.
I just can't believe you actually watch boxing and come up with this kind of argument.Last edited by Espy; 09-08-2015, 08:49 PM.Comment

Floyd isnt held to a higher standard that is obvious. His whole career he just fought who everyone else fought. Floyd fans were almost wanted Floyd to have a bravery award for fight Pac, when JMM already did it 4 times. So in reality the standards for Floyd are set much lower than his peers. Floyd does this by starving his fans of fight, so eventually they are just happy if Floyd gives you a fight.
People want FLoyd to fight GGG as they want him to reach his latent potential and take a proper challenge and risk. Is fighting someone your underdog against too big an ask?
Is ggg fighting Stevenson smart?? Should we codemn ggg for not fighting Stevenson?? Oh that's right ggg can fight at 160 or below his whole career. When Ward calls him out, he is no longer a big dog and too small for 168. But yeah do you want to see ggg vs Stevenson? If so call for the fight and call ggg out for being a pussie If not shut the phuck upComment

You're the one trying to promote your opinion as fact and yet I'm the fanboy....

End of story.
A message board is a place for posting opinions.
I'm pretty sure I've won these rounds against you so far, for the record.
I stopped reading at 'imbecile'.
No need for insults.
Do keep in mind it is you who attacked me, not the other way around.
Floyd has not fought the most intriguing matchups. Since Castillo, he has fought the most profitable ones.
It is pretty hard to fault a guy for that.
If we talk about boxing history, that is nevertheless the reality.
He's still the best fighter of the past decade, one of the best current fighters even at age 38, and top-20 all-time. Those are all respectable things.Comment

You stay taking L's.
Edit:
You're "pretty sure" that you won the rounds yet all that you have said is your opinion of what defines greatness and insinuated that you speak for serious boxing fans. I haven't done anything or made one argument outside of poking holes at your swiss cheese opinion.
More L's for the man.Comment
