roger was knocked out several times, and was in some wars. he was a puncher, not a boxer like floyd.

with proper matchmaking, floyd will take less punishment in 10 fights than roger took in one war.

Cortez comes across as a superficial analyst here.
Floyd is a wizard at SELF-promotion. He's not a wizard at selling fights in general. When has he promoted someone else's fight in the fashion of don king or bob arum? I'll wait...
Floyd's smart enough to employ an age-old sales tactic (that he likely learned from the WWE), which is to sell yourself--and THAT will sell the product. Floyd also had to be smart enough to know that his style was changing due to age. He was still fighting superbly, BUT in the least crowd-pleasing style possible (it's why B-Hop could never be a PPV star).
So, he put together an act, a character. He tried thug, pretty, boy next door, and then he just said **** it, and made a caricature of himself by rolling with greed & wealth. He's talked extensively about idolizing the show, Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous, back in the day.
Floyd ain't no rocket surgeon, but the guy is smart enough to put on a circus act to sell his own fights.
Now, let's see Floyd successfully promote another fighter, and make him a PPV attraction, and THEN we can start calling him a promotional wizard.

There are no guarantees of anything, but it seems highly likely.

Only way Mayweather can break Marciano's record is if he gains 35 pounds and beats 50 heavyweights and that has to include the top heavyweights and at least one reigning lineal Champion. Up to this point he hasnt even beaten all the injured and shot fighters low weight he's faced.

Money Mayweather will leave a potential $50MM payday on the table?

Floyd Mayweather is just saying it's his last fight to sell his disgusting mismatch with Andre Berto.

He's retired before, and came back.

I guarantee he'll fight again in 2016, against someone who isn't dangerous.

All the talk of Marciano. Floyd would need 3 fights to break the 'record' for undefeated champion.

There was a guy from Mexico named Ricardo Lopez.

Floyd is finishing his contract. I think he retires.

                    Matching Rocky is pretty good.

Unless he somehow goes the way of Larry Holmes and winds up 48-1 in fight number 49. Unlikely but all is possible.

I agree with this. Marciano's record is for undefeated HW champion.

51 wins is the record for undefeated champion though.
