While this thread is about Paul Smith stating that Andre Ward Beats Kovalev By Wide Margin, all Ward's fans still talk Super Six, Bute, Dawson or Golovkin... or Ward being better than grandpa Hopkins...
... meanwhile, at the castle, Ward is supposed to fight a TBA on the Cotto-Canelo undercard. You better discuss this TBA, it would be more fun I guess.Comment

imagine if andy lee offered ggg a career high payday and ggg turned it down
imagine if cotto offered ggg a career high payday and ggg turned it down
imagine if ward offered to fight ggg at 160 and ward turned it down
and imagine while turning down these fights ggg tried to fight a bunch of unranked guys.
would you defend that? well that's exactly what ward did when he turned down 2 champs in his division and the champ from a division above who was willing to accommodate him at his weight while trying to fight truax and sartison.
Beterbiev getting himself locked in as the mandatory challenger simply gets him more leverage for the deal, If Duva continues forward with the bull**** deal ($500k to Beterbiev, after all that **** she talked about finding powerful backers for Kovalev in Russia and HBO putting maybe $2m behind the fight), Team Beterbiev forces the purse bid, of which Beterbiev is entitled to 25%, and put on the fight on their own terms (Vladimir Hryunov, being appreciative of the quick title fight for Allahkverdiev, in addition to the work being done for Wilder-Povetkin, could partner with GYM to give them a strong backer in Russia; thank you, Al Haymon).
Haymon would likely see if Espinoza was interested in the fight, but Showtime would likely pass on to (Beterbiev not being yet ready to carry his own shows, and Kovalev's HBO deal placing a poison pill of sorts into the deal); PBC wouldn't be an option, as the prsentation in Russia is likely different than the generally unified presentation under the PBC umbrella.
GYM/World of Boxing put on the show, HBO gets the US TV rights, Canada Indigo gets the Canadian TV rights, Hyrunov delivers TV1 in Russia and the larger slate of TV rights across Europe, BoxNation gets the UK TV rights, and Duva is left holding her thumb up her ass.

Ward is public enemy #2....Floyd is still the top dog!!....Ward became #2 when he made GGG and his team look like pharmacy cotton soft chumps....the GGG fans didn't like that ****....they went in "he should fight Krusher" mode....with the belief that Krusher has a better chance of beating Ward than their man GGG LMAO....I mean, I do agree that Krusher has a way better chance at beating Ward than GGG does.....Ward beats the snot outta GGG....Ward-Krusher is 50-50 all the way around....I don't agree with Smith on this WIDE margin ****....the fight will be close and it wouldn't surprise me if SOG had to pick himself off the canvas and be taken places he's never been before while in a boxing ring....this is a REAL fight...not a fight between hyped up cats with weak resumes

Beterbiev isn't thirsting after money, but he's not going to be a sucker. He's one fight away from becoming mandatory challenger and Duva tried to lowball the money ($500k as his share of the HBO/Russia money, while also giving up 75% of his own Canadian TV money to Kovalev was a **** deal).

"I am ready to fight the best 168- and 175-pounders that are out there," Ward told ESPN.com in a recent interview. "At this point, a big fight at 175 is interesting to me. I don't want to go up just to go up. But for the right fight, for a big fight, I would go up. I'm willing to fight anyone at '68 or '75."

when you thought i just made the quote up "ward would never say that it's so ******!"
then when you find out the truth "yeah but look at the context, when he said anyone he only meant pascal and only in 2012."
wow look how strong you make him lookComment

It's likely to be someone rated in the WBA's top 15, but all Ward needs is a stellar performance against whomever the opponent ends up being; Cotto-Alvarez, imo, is likely to get purchased by 700k homes (could go higher depending on how much effort is put into drawing the casual fight fan to the card). Ward skunks TBA before stopping him in the middle rounds, and the casual fight fan would have reason to check for Ward going forward (if RocNation were smart, they'd take a page out of Floyd Mayweather's book after the Alvarez fight, and simply put Ward's face on as many platforms as physically possible (or as many as would have him on).Comment
