    What makes you say that?

I kinda feel like Maidana is the type that would rather get right into it with another name guy doe anyway so he might veto Aron Martinez or whatever easy W Haymon might have planned for him.

That'd be a ****** idea, he MUST have a tune up fight first, the guy was awfully out of shape and next time he fight he will be coming off a year and a half layoff

Plus he has to fight at a catchweight of 150 or higher, if he makes 147 he's gonna lose

I think that's exactly what it is and it's a hard thing to come back from. We may once again see the Marcos who got tooled by Alexander and went life and death with Soto Karas. I seriously hope not, but all signs point to it.

What's your thoughts on why he got schooled by Alexander, and went life and death with morales? Bad matchups, or just poor training?

Thats actually good as a WW resume. Put his last 6 or 7 fights and compare them with every other WW's resume not named Pac or Floyd. Not much difference.

I used to think he was just a caveman but he showed such discipline against Broner and Mayweather that I admit I was wrong. The guy is very capable, I think it's a matter of him being motivated and his trainer getting through to him.

I agree. I'm just baffled by that Alexander loss. The morales fight was more about how great guys from ten years ago are compared to the new breed. That era was just more talented. still don't know why I bought that ppv, glad I did though. Best one in years.

Absolutely. Guys like Morales, who just have that fire in them, can sometimes pull out an amazing performance long past their expiration date.
People try to explain away that Alexander loss but there's no excuse for that. Awful performance by Maidana.
I recently rewatched the Kahn fight and had forgotten how good that one was. Too bad Marcos couldn't keep it together and pull out a win.

Yea, I watched that khan fight a few months ago. Still can't believe he almost put him away in the first round lol. Maidana looks terrible when he is timid. Calculated aggression is when he's at his pinnacle.
