The Man..the Myth..... The not so Legend... Keith Thurman

I was once very high on Keith "One Time Thurman". In fact, I knew of him before you. I saw him fight live on the Floyd/Guerrero untelevised undercard. He was on my list of top prospects before he ever fought on TV.

But what is he doing with his career? He's got some notable wins but nothing to go crazy over. He's got all the Top welterweights in the same stable and has fought none of them. Dude just fought Collazo and thinks he's entitled to face Floyd.

Now I know what the defense force will say. " He's being ducked by everybody doe!! Or "it's Haymon fault doe"

That's BS. If Thurman demanded big fights Haymon will deliver. But instead he's content making good money fighting the Bundus and Collazos of the world. Marketing 101. Cry about being ducked then use it as an excuse to fight Julio Diaz. Do you not see this gimmick?

"I will beat Diaz and Collazo worse than Khan"
"I will beat Ghost worse than Floyd"
"I will be the first to beat Bundu"

So what's next? I will beat Josesito worse than Berto to prove I deserve Floyd?

So what's up NSB? When will Thurman fight someone in the top 5 instead of begging Floyd and crying about being ducked ?

Agreed. But everyone wants a big pay day whether or not they deserve it. Floyd is a big pay day for anyone.
So I get why everyone wants it. Whether or not they deserve it.

Floyd is no different to what Oscar was in the mid-90s to early 2000s. The difference is that fighters were able to beat Oscar.

I don't see anything in Thurman that would make him one of the best guys at 147. He can get beat by a skilled boxer or a guy that got a good punch behind him. Porter, Brook, and Spence are guys that I would pick over Thurman right now.

Floyd is out of the picture anyway. Berto is his last fight unless he is a liar. I believe him. As for Thurman I used to be a big fan but he has let me down. He has been fighting poor opposition lately. He fought like a pacifist in the Bundu fight and he seemed badly hurt by mediocre Collazo. He has to beat a top 10 welterweight to impress me. Porter, Garcia, Khan, or Maidana would do the trick. He is like Khan. They both talk about fighting the best welterweights but neither of them fight top 10 welterweights. Brook would be a real test for either Khan or Thurman, assuming he beats Chavez.

IDK I still see him as a top welterweight. You're just being hard on your boy, as soon as he beats a top opponent you know you'll be happy lol

I'm a Thurman fan but the more and more time goes by, the more it shows that he's not who he claims he is. Hope he doesn't turn into some big diva when he's at the top.

I think he's extremely overrated. I'm waiting for him to prove me wrong, but he seems unable to get in with top competition for whatever reason. I don't buy that he's being ducked either.

He's a top 10 WW but nothing he's done so far has stood out from the other top 10 WW.
