Comments Thread For: Mayweather Regrets Not Having Haymon at The Beginning

There is very little that Floyd Mayweather hasn’t accomplished through 48 fights over the span of nearly 19 years in the pro ranks. The bronze medal he was forced to accept in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics was the last time he endured a loss, having run the tables in collecting major titles in five weight classes and establishing himself as the greatest fighter of his generation.

Right? 32 million to fight Guerreeo Maidana Ortiz and Berto. Haymon and Floyd cleaned house. So I can't knock him here.

Can't be mad at that. Arum was never gonna get him the dlh fight for 20mill, only offered him 7 mill a piece for hatton and cotto but 8 mill for margs, with Haymon he got the lineal champ instead for the same amount, and got more than what arum offered for the other three in massive ppv events.

Haymon is good for Mayweather but not good for boxing. You can tell how people like Amir Khan have been protected that if he gets a monopoly useless people like Khan will continue making money fighting bums.

The only problem with this is that fighters perceived on Amir level at WW have fought better competition. Khan is yet to beat a top 10 WW while other Haymon WWs like Thurman Miadana Porter did. And those guys have stated time after time they'd love to fight khan, while khan drags up/down fighters outside the top 10. His best WW win is a guy who was dethroned by another Haymon fighter when he was in the top 10 and had a title.

If he was with Haymon from the beginning he never would have amounted to anything.

Haymon is the greatest thing to happen to boxing, changed the game for the better, his fighters love him, he signs stars and fighters with less than 5 fights, he gets them great opportunities which is something that every fighter wishes they could get, now he's putting boxing back on free tv and all the PBC cards have at least 1 great fight

haymon cares and understands the long term health problems that fighters have to live with. thats why he gets them the most money that he can per fight. if anybody sees something wrong with that then so be it.
