exactly this hahahahahahaha. not to mention his dad and uncle were somewhat successful boxers themselves. floyd was groomed and pampered by the media compared to pac. pac was considered an underdog in many of his important fights (sasakul, ledwaba, barrera, dela hoya, etc.). so that shows the media still had many doubts with pacquiao.

    • Your TBE and your going out with Berto???? Berto???? Complete joke! May wouldn't have lasted 4 rounds with Tommy Hearns! Hearns, Hagler, SRR, SRL.... floyd is a joke compared to the true ATGs! Boxing will get better after september!

If the best of this era is a joke then how can the sport get better after September?

No. I'm not saying people from Floyds neighbourhood didn't have it bad. But watch the Manny documentary even if it makes a meal of Mannys life, and having had a parent grow up in South Asia in a village there isn't a neighbourhood in America that you wouldn't swap it for.

Manny originally grew up in a village in a country during it's civil war between the ****** *********s and the government/army and had to move out of his village to escape it. This is not a Manny nuthugging piece, dude btched out in the Floyd fight, and Floyd is the better fighter of the two but there isn't a doubt in my mind who I'd have rather been growing up. Also most of South Asian tourism growth has been in the decade the places you see now didn't exist then.

I grew up in Surabaya and in the last 10 years it's gone from having one shtty shopping centre to having 30 and several 5 star hotels. It's just a shame not a huge amount of that money filters down. It's currently 20,000 Rupees to a pound, the average wage in the Phillipines in the provovinces is $2.00 a day. Thats pretty much everywhere outside of Manila and Cebu.

Hearns' last meaningful fight was in '92 vs. Iran Barkley. Hearns was 34 years old. He had 12 more fight after that, so he went out worst than Mayweather. Hagler hung 'em up after losing to SRL in '87. He was only 33 when he quit. He had 3 defeats and 2 draws. SRR is TBE so I don't want to disrespect him, however, his last championship fight was at age 40, in 1961, and he lost that fight to Gene Fulmer. He fought 44 more fights after the lost to Fulmer, so if going out with Berto sucks, what did 44 more non-title fights do to SRR's legacy? SRL was 33 years old when he beat Duran for the 2nd time, in '89. After that he lost back-to-back to Terry Norris and Hector Camacho. Did that damage his legacy? Do you hold SRL to the same standard as Floyd? I don't think so!

              • lol this guy is the one who is based on media pre emptive glorification because of who his name is, his undefeated record, and the fact that his career was cherry picked manufactured by bob arum just like he did with oscar.

pacquiao was the one who actually had to pay his dues the hard way. no famous name with famous boxing fathers and uncles. no money, coming from a poor country. he built his legacy on sheer hard work, will power, and most important, ambition.

by the time arum got pacquiao,

he already fought 3 mexican sure fire first ballot hall of famers all under the age of 30.

Floyd has yet to face a legit bona fide all time great who was in their prime. all the famous names on his resume were all green or past prime.

He's the one with the fake media campaign of TBE!!! TBE!!!! when the best guy in your empty resume in comparison to other all time greats is deigo freaking corrales.

GTFO here floyd with that ****** shameless hypocritical garbage.

                ****** generic **********.

This fool just posted that Compubox was on crack. LMFAO!! Manny fans just can't get over him losing. WTF?
He's all they have. No career, no friends, family or loved ones. No hobbies and no purpose. Being a Manny Pacquiao fan is central to their iden****** as much as a Christian's religion is central to their own identity, and to admit that he came up extremely short would be tantamount to blasphemy. They will do anything they can to protect that identity, even say that the entire world was against the man that they claim the entire world universally loves. That my friend, is how CompuBox ends on crack.
