If Floyd would have lost, then, the media would say he was ducking Manny and still lost. Now that Floyd won, the media and casual fans say that he only won because the fight was too little too late. No matter what, Floyd will never satisfy everyone. He won, he made Manny fight his fight at his pace and did nothing that he normally does to every other fighter he has faced. Floyd may not be exciting but he wins, and he barely loses rounds. He already beat the top fighters in boxing today...Canelo, Cotto, and Manny. Berto will give him some problems and the fight will be more exciting.

Mayweather's biggest fight, and by far his most lucrative, was the May 2nd mega-match with Manny Pacquiao.

The ring is a magazine, not a sanctioning body so no they don't outweigh anyone. Still no mention of that vacant WBC silver belt he won below the JMW limit against a fighter who had been Ko'd and set out for a year for cheating.

in 2009, manny became the first 7 weight world champ, first 4 weight lineal champ, 3 time ring and BWAA fighter of the year. meanwhile floyd dragged marquez up TWO WEIGHT DIVISIONS FOR THE FIRST TIME. hahahahahahahahahahahaha

maybe if floyd didn't take that strategic "retirement" and fought and beat a prime cotto, prime margarito, prime pacquiao, paul williams, etc. he could be discussed as the best fighter of the 2000s. but he didn't.
Dela Hoya? u really consider this a legit win? give me a break! Dela Hoya moved down a WHOLE weight class to fight Pacquiao at 147, a weight he hasn't made in 7 years! the man looked like a holocaust victim at the weigh in, just like Morales before his rematch with Pacquiao, it was also a past prime version of Dela Hoya who's coming off a loss, same with Hatton, who was also coming off a KO loss to Mayweather.

Did Pacquiao fight prime Cotto? prime Margarito? prime Williams? absolutely not! Margarito had just gotten KTFO into another dimension by Shane Mosley and Cotto had just gotten his face cut up a year earlier by Margarito and he looked like **** against Clottey, a fight where many people thought he lost, none of Pacqioao's opponents were ranked at the top 3 at WW when he fought them, even Cotto wasn't, from whom he won his "legendary" 7th world title.

Marquez was also moving up in weight to fight Pacquiao in the 3rd fight and he beat Pacquiao, Marquez was ranked #2 P4P when he moved up to fight Floyd and he lost every round, and Floyd did that before Pacquiao, Floyd fought Mosley coming off the biggest win of his career against Margarito and he was the WBA champ, ranked number 2 at WW and #3 P4P by the ring magazine, and Floyd beat him 11-1 and in a more dominant fashion than Pacquiao, who kept on missing for the 2nd half of the fight and this was also before Pacquiao fought Mosley, who was coming off the ****tiest performance of his career against Sergio freaking Mora! then u had Ortiz who was the WBC champ, ranked #3 by the ring magazine, then Cotto, not coming off a loss at a catchweight, but coming off the biggest win of his career and a champion at the weight he chose, then Guerrero who at the time was the interim WBC champion, #3 WW by the ring and was ranked P4P I don't remember where, then Canelo, lineal champ, #1 at 154 by the ring, ranked P4P, 13 years age advantage, didn't win more than 2 rounds, then Maidana, WBA champion, ranked top 5 at WW, coming off the biggest win of his career against Broner, then Pacquiao, the number 2 P4P guy in the world and the #2 WW in the world.

THERE IS NO COMPARISON! u can compare the 2 since 2003 till 2008, but since 2009 it's clear who accomplished more and who fought and beat much better opposition.

Sure Floyd that's why you waited 5 yrs to face that media creation ,also, had to wait for others to do your dirty work ..Floyd needs to retire and go away !

Not on his level why did he run from that midget then during their fight? By his logic it should have been an ass whoopin not a track meet !

            Got anymore excuses? ???

As any boxing fan who enjoys the skills of a Floyd Mayweather we all know people like you are still butt hurt over watching Floyd abuse Pacroid like he stole something. Now you and all the Pacroid supporters should get together and make a list of excuses and see if the boxing commission will except them. I think they will laugh y'all zza out of the country. Hell I'm still laughing at as soon as the fight was over y'all started with the excuses. Tell you what why don't you laugh with me at all the excuses y'all fools have come up with. Lets go hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahah.

He was the IBO and Ring magazine champion, who are not major sanctioning bodies, The Ring magazine ranks fighters, but their champion is not a legit world champion, plus Hatton was far from being himself, he just got KOed by Mayweather a year earlier and looked like **** in his next 2 fights, same with Cotto who got KOed by Margarito and got his face cut up a year before he fought Cotto and looked like **** against B level Clottey in a fight where many peoiple thought Clottey actually won, and that was at a catchweight.

Hatton had recently been Ko'd by Floyd, struggled with Juan Lazcano, and had one good performance over Paulie. To get back on subject of the article, even with his big wins he STILL wasn't as good as the man they said it was his job to beat. His WW run was primarily due to match making rather than fighting the best guys. he will go down in history, but somewhere waay behind Floyd.

Floyd cannot seem to stop talking about manny. Stop using his name to promote your career (I.e. the ppv fight against the guy soto-karass knocked out)

The scary thing is you actually believe what you are saying.....floyd never beat manny pacquaio May 2nd......it was to close to call and if your call hugging and running winning rounds you need to reset your logic about how to score a fight......replays have already shown the fight was corrupted with the scoring

Oh man!! Floyd knows how to push those buttons to get ppl rattle. This is a very sensitive subject for fans on both sides!!! lol...

But really, there's nothing to brag after a real bad performance by both fighters. Like a lot of the ppl, I wanted Manny to pull it off, but my $$$ was with Floyd (btw not a fan of either).

Manny might have been hurt but didn't take any risks or chances in the fight, and Floyd fought as scared as a fighter could ever fight. It was painful to watch!!! The truth is this fight was 6 yrs late and it showed.

I always wanted to give Floyd his props, he's a real talent but his safe approach to the game, meaning fight wise, had prevented me from doing so. For example, start of round 11 Floyd took it to Manny, I was like "oh *****, Floyd is going to put it on Manny and make a statement" even his dad was telling him to go for it, it was there for the taking, but once Manny made a move Floyd went to safe mode and didn't press the action anymore. It's impossible to appreciate those actions from a fighter, doesn't mean not to be safe, but ppl are paying a lot $$$ to see something that you're capable of doing but you're not willing to do it!!!
