He is similar to Margarito in his ability to throw a huge number of good punches round after round. He has never been down and I've never seen him hurt much so he has a great chin like Margarito. I think his speed, defense and skill are superior to Margarito who was never hard to hit or considered a very good boxer. I think Margarito was a very good fighter but Santa Cruz is better and one of the best fighters in the world pound for pound.

Santa cruz fights similar to tony and even looks a little like a young tony but margarito had that meanness/edge to him that I dont think santa cruz has. The killer instinct.

Ill be honest. I think leo is juicing and haymon is helping..

He looked more tired vs that last week replacement on the floyd undercard. Vs mares he got hit to the body threw 1000 punches and never looked tired for 10 seconds.

        Something looked fishy.

Seriously, I got goosebumps watching Leo last night. It was beautiful watching perform at that level. He took the onslaught from Mares and smiled it off lmao, he took shots and kept going. It's incredible what better opponents bring out of fighters.

However, he SHOWED more capabilities than Margarito has shown in his career like movement, range management and ring IQ amongst a few others.

I'm a fan of Leo for life, so proud of him.

It's because he can't punch. You know he's going to spend 12 rounds flailing. it was different at 118 when he was capable of breaking guys down and stopping them. That aspect is gone since he moved up and it hurts his excitability.

We'll see just how good a fight he can get in with better opponents, though. Maybe he has more to show us.
