This was a decent fight, absolutely not great, not many clean punches landed, way too much wrestling, no knockdowns, not much drama.

And we had 268 trash fights since the PBC started and that should have been the crown ***el? Sad times.

how exactly was it boring? u guys just cant admit a fight was good on pbc lol which is honestly lame. all i want to know is when gary russel and santa cruz will fight that be a great stylistic matchup

has nothing to do with pbc. I just can't get it up for wild, sloppy punchers who can't hurt each other. All out aggression is great; ineffective is not.

Here's my barometer for a great fight: do I keep it on my recorder in order to re watch it?

This one didn't pass. Here are some that have (recent): Broner/Maidana, Floyd/Cotto, Matthysee/Ruslan, Ruslan/Bradley, etc.

There are some that don't pass it because I'm butthurt and i'll admit (I can't re watch Garcia Matthysee, haha, I'm still sore Danny won).

But this was just....boring for the reasons I said.

First PBC event that actually felt like it was put together by a professional promoter. The audience made it what it was because they actually paid to attend this fight unlike the previous one's where they had to give out free tickets to make it seem like it was a big event

When guys can't knock each other down some of the drama goes away, same happened with Provodnikov-Matthysse

Both fights delivered in terms of punishment dished out but lacked a little more drama we thought it could contain.

That said, I enjoyed the fight but I was rooting for Mares so I'm a little butthurt right now.
