This guy killed the threadThey all do. If fighters sparred world class opposition, they wouldn't last very long in this sport. And I wouldn't necessarily call them bums, I would say some guys just fall into that sparring partner position, and they can't really break out of it. As a reputation, their job ends up being sparring partner, and not necessarily prize fighter. There are roles in boxing, not every one makes it to the top, but there are roles. Some guys are used to test young talent and take loses sometimes unfairly, some guys become sparring partners, etc. It is what it is. Watching the sparring footage from a few days back, the Mexican kid 17-10, was giving Mayweather good work, and just 20 years old, too! That's what it's about, giving them good work.Comment

Solid post. But the end is wrong. The Mexican guy said he's been floods sparring partner for 10 years lol. Probably made some real good money, more than he did fighting for real.
