Comments Thread For: Opponent Named For Zab Judah 9/10 Ring Return

An opponent has been named for Zab Judah's first fight in nearly two years. The former two-division champ will face Colombia's Hevinson Herrera on September 10 at The Space in Westbury (Long Island), New York.

Event handlers confirmed the opponent Friday morning.

Judah (42-9, 29KOs) confirmed his comeback plans earlier this month, a move that includes his signing a co-promotional agreement with Greg Cohen Promotions. [Click Here To Read More]

Same pattern every time with Zab. Get destroyed then take some time off. Come back and get a mediocre win then he's right back in a big fight where he'll once again get destroyed lol he's been repeating this pattern for the last 10 years!

I remember Clottey-Judah, so many people seemed to have the attitude that surely this guy had been given enough shots and would be gone before too long. Yet here we are 7 years later and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up getting another opportunity. After the loss to Paulie it didn't seem he had many options left but seeing how many easy title shots are handed out at 140-147 fighting Broner, Thurman or Kell Brook within the next 12 months. Even after that maybe he can fight Mosley (remember when that was gonna happen years ago?) on independent PPV.

Yeah I just don't understand why he doesn't use his college degree and take that wall street job they keep offering him.

He probably should of called it a day a while back.

Boxing being what it is though, if he wins a few low key fights, he will probably some how mange to get him self a favourable one down the line.

Zab's biggest downfall was moving up to WW. He could hit as hard as anyone at 147 but his hands just weren't busy enough (prob a stamina problem). Almost like he wanted to be a defensive fighter but his defense was mediocre. He should have stayed in the 135 - 140 lb range and I think his career record would be alot better. A better trainer would've helped too, but u know the family loyalty thing
