Comments Thread For: Peter Quillin Says Move Up to 168 is “On The Horizon”

Peter Quillin doesn’t want to leave middleweight just yet, even though he failed to make 160 against Andy Lee earlier this year and even though his upcoming bout with Michael Zerafa has a contractual weight limit of 163 pounds. He has a potential fight with fellow Brooklyn middleweight Daniel Jacobs tentatively scheduled for this December, after all.

But Quillin acknowledges that a move up to super middleweight is in the not-too-distant future.

Guessing they do Jacobs-Quillin at 162.5lbs so Jacobs keeps his belt either way and Quillin goes to 168 either way.

I really want to like PBC but they do too much stuff that doesn't make sense. WTF! Why would they make that Quillin fight the main event? If a fight like that is the main even that really says a lot about the other match ups on the card.

Truthfully speaking right now Spence names rings louder and has more weight to it than Quillin. Just makes no sense.

Quillin has underwhelmed fans at 160 & now looks forward to underwhelming them at 168.

It would be typical of PBC, that fight is over-marinated anyway.

I don't like Quillin but this is pure hate here, it's a nice headliner (local guys) and should be a fun fight, seen way worse. Also, Spence has fought nobody, until he fights somebody with a pulse then maybe we can consider him being a headliner.

And the person who cares? zip zero

You did absolutely nothing at 160 now on the smaller and lesser things at 168lb seem to be your plans.

Quillin needs to stop running and start making a name for himself. I enjoyed his early career but since winning the title he has done NOTHING. Personally I hope Jacobs takes himout and possibly a lose will make Quillin a more willing and better fighter. Their aware still some interesting matchups at 168 but I doubt we see any of them outside of a possible Degale/Quillin fight late next year
