Morales styled on Pacquiao to victory in that fight. Don't worry, Pacquiao took the trilogy
That was a close fight, he wasn't 100% convince he was going to get the nod from the judges. You know how Las Vegas judges work. We've seen many fights where we thought one guy won a landslide and judges end up giving it to the other guy.

Here's the thing, Morales knew that Pacquiao was having problems with blood getting in his right eye. That he had a problem protecting that side of his face because his vision was affected. Morales was landing his left quite a bit. I think he wanted to make a statement and close the show in spectacular fashion.

He turned southpaw to entice and open Pacquiao up, thinking he can land a hard left to knock him out. The fans got a show but that's not the reason he turned southpaw. Morales had a practical purpose and he knew what he was doing.

I deal with facts and boxing knowledge not name calling.

Morales did not go southpaw because he wanted to give Pacquiao a chance to win or because he wanted to make the fans happy. That's only for the naive who don't know boxing. There's a lot of strategizing that goes on in the ring.

He had his reason's why and it was because he wanted to knockout Pacquiao, that's the only reason. And he thought he had a good chance of doing it, read my previous post. Now in the process that he wanted to knockout Pacquiao, he ended up giving the fans a good show and he ended up giving Pacquiao a chance to win by knockout.

Kudos to Morales for being a warrior.

^ I think it was machismo.

Trying as a strategy is fine and all, but it wasn't working strategically per se, so if it was pure strategy he wouldn't have done it so long. Stepping into Pac's wheelhouse for nearly half a round is pure machismo.

Today on NSB, I learned that if you want to knock out a southpaw, switch to southpaw to set him up with your straight left hand even though it is not your dominant hand. And all this time I thought the straight right hand was the most effective weapon against a southpaw.

Thank you NSB for this advanced knowledge.
