So you think boxers go around deciding, "I think I'll let this guy hit me and knock me out!"

    Fool.

Don't drink the kool-aid that Merchant was trying to give the audience during his interview with Morales. Insinuating he did that for the fans. That's too shallow. A boxer the caliber of Morales would never do that. A Mayorga might do something ****** like that but I can't think of anyone else.

Morales: ... I'm here for the people, I like to give a spectacle, I could have made a different type of fight, but I stood toe to toe, and even in the last rounds, without need, this is what people like...

Merchant: ... but you really liked to stand toe to toe with him in the 12th round even if you thought you won the fight, didn't you?

              Morales: Did you like it?

              Merchant: I loved it

              Morales: Thank you, thank you.

              Merchant: Gracias

No he didn't do it to show off.

He knew Pacquiao was going to bring it and would be open to get hit. He went southpaw to entice him. He was trying to catch him and knock him out. The problem, he's not as fast as Pacquiao and got caught himself.

Delusional to think he was getting hit on purpose to let Pacquiao have a chance or to make the fans happy. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. He was taking the risk of getting hit to land his own. The bravado interview he gave was more to save face, as he looked ridiculous when he was getting caught. I don't think he ever recovered from that 12th round beating.

Lol, you must have never heard his interviews in Spanish or his commentating, the man loves gore and brutality. He says it himself, when he watches boxing, he wants a war, he wants blood and two fighters buckling down and letting leather fly. Perhaps you don't understand it, but men in our culture do a lot of ****** or risky things to prove they are "fajadores".

Tua is right, it was more or less Morales exerting his dominance and practically belittling Pacquiao. Listen, say what you want but even if Morales was losing to the point of desperation, I seriously doubt he would bank on turning southpaw and giving his opponent all the advantage just to go for broke. Come on now, Morales was much smarter than that. Plus, he was clearly winning the fight. This was nothing more than Morales showboating in a brutal fashion.

Exerting his dominance? The guy was getting bludgeoned and swaying like a drunk. A funny way to show dominance. He might have wanted to show dominance by knocking Pacquiao out.

Imagine if he knocked Pacquiao out in the 12th. I don't think he would have apologized and say he didn't mean to do that. He would have been jumping up and down.

Even boxers who showboat do it for a reason, to catch the other guy reacting to the showboating.

So you're saying Morales felt the need to KO Pacquiao was so great, he absolutely had to open himself up by switching stances and putting himself in a vulnerable predicament, just to secure a KO in a fight he was comfortably ahead in?

Morales styled on Pacquiao to victory in that fight. Don't worry, Pacquiao took the trilogy
