    New York: The fight between Miguel Cotto (40-4, 31 KO’s) and Canelo Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KO’s) will be fought at a catch-weight of 155 but will have the WBC world middleweight title at stake. The WBC has mandated that the winner of Cotto-Canelo must fight the winner of Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KO’s) and David Lemiuex (34-2, 31 KO’s)

    Come WBC, you know good and well these catchweights are nothing more then Cotto forcing contenders to risk their lives making weight because its the only way they get a title shot

      i have no problem with a fighter coming in at 155,but my problem is when you want the opponent to weigh the same,the limit is up to 160,let the opponent weigh was is comfortable for him,the other way they are just being drained

          anybody from 154-168 doe..sacrafice or dont get the belt..your
          if u're a small 160 like everybody likes to says losing 4 lbs should be no problem right?

              The middleweight division is anything between 155-160Lb GGG should stick to his guns here. If Cotto doesn't like it then he can always return to light-middleweight!

                Yeah these crazy gratuitous new catch weights are ****ing nuts. Broner draining Porter down 3 lbs from 147-144? Criminally dangerous.

                Cotto draining a guy who kills himself to make 160 in Geale was criminal too.

                Boxing has become a total side show and even more of a disgrace than it was before.
