Ward should do whatever he can to get on this card. Even if it's another tune up level opponent, fans just need to see him at this point. It's too big of a stage for him to just pass up.

Ward was on BET in his last, 90 million homes and only 325k bothered to watch. Ward doesn't need a captive audience he needs a real fight.Comment

legit challenge? you mean like ggg? bad news, ggg ain't havin noneRigo used to fight on Pacquiao undercards in front of a big audience. It failed to grow him into an attraction because he turned most of them off. If Andre has another Paul Smith fight on the Alvarez/Cotto undercard, he risks further damage to his credibility as a top performer. That's not a place for a one-sided tune-up fight, those fans are there to be entertained.
The surest way for Ward to become a big name again is to take a big fight. He could fight Jean Pascal in Montreal. They'd actually sell maybe 10,000 tickets, HBO would be all over it pumping it up as a major fight, and Ward would get credit for fighting a legit challenge.Comment

Yada yada yada and more of the same. In the meantime, ggg hasn't faced even one A list opponent. This at age 33Why does all Ward fanboys act like Ward didn't turn a GGG fight down three years ago when GGG just entered the American market? At this point GGG was desperate to get anyone in the ring to make a name of himself and challenged everybody between 154 and 168 lbs. That statement was made during that time. At that point Ward went on the record rejecting the fight. Now, three years later, GGG is saying all the time his target is to unify the middleweight division. Now all of a sudden Ward is asking the guy from the lower weight to move up. How is GGG ducking Ward? They are not even fighting at the same weight. Ward rejected fights with Bute, Stevenson, and also re-matches with Froch and Kessler (on foreign soil) in the past. He also rejected a fight with GGG when he wasn't that popular three years ago. Now he's fighting on BET and GGG has to jump to 168 suddenly? For real? If Ward can't fight a dance partner, why not move up and fight Kovalev on PPV? By the way, how can Ward justify fighting guys like Smith, Sartison, Periban or Dunn? He wants 2 million dollar tune-up fights, but also GGG at the same time? How ****** do you have to be to believe this? All Ward has to do is lower his crazy monetary demands, respect HBO's budget, and get ****ing relevant again - means: fighting at least some top 10 fighters in his divison. Otherwise, the GGG fight won't happen. Even if GGG decides to move up, this fight might probably not happen. Ward rejected OSDT already in the past and he won't accept less than 50% of the split. The truth is, right now, his commercial value doesn't even justify 35%. If he continues to fight nobodys on BET in Oakland he won't even get 20%.Comment

Ward acting like he got choices. He's not in that position any more. Casuals and hardcore fans have forgotten his name. He needs to start from the bottom again and be hungry like he used to be prior to the Super 6.Comment

GGG is Ward's only option? Golovkin wanted to fight Cotto for the MW title, couldn't get him so he moved on to Lemieux, will probably go after the Lee/Saunders winner next. What's Ward doing? Paul Smith & Zac Dunn?
Pascal/Ward is a real fight.Comment

Why even bother , for the haters its GGG fault that Ward is fighting all those bums , and continue to blame GGG regardless of logic , Ward just doesnt want any high level fights this year , he said it himself and backed it up with smith and zac , his fans or rather GGG haters just ignore that fact , its sad to see a SMW wait on a MW to come up while sitting on his ass for half a decade , but its GGG fault that Ward just didnt fight anyone for several years now....Comment
