Golovkin's style attracts fans. 9,300 people didn't pay to see Golovkin fight Rubio or 12,500 pay to see him fight Monroe, or 8,500 to see him fight Geale, just because some internet reporters asked Golovkin about Ward and Golovkin said sure when I'm done with MW. Golovkin does better gate & tv against low-name fighters like those then Ward did vs Dawson and Froch.

Ward has to pack fights with comp'd tickets in his own hometown and only 323k bothered to watch him on national tv, nobody gives a **** about Ward because his style is not exciting. Rigo got the hype machine behind him on HBO, and a big fight with Donaire. The only reason things haven't worked out for him is because Top Rank blackballed him for actually winning that fight. Pacquiao undercards did plenty for him before that.

And this would be Andre Ward, a proven commodity, as the co-main for a huge PPV fight. It's nothing but a good thing for Ward and will bypass a lot of the work he will otherwise have to put in to reestablish himself.

The same can't be said about certain Ward haters. The venom he draws despite being a classy, well spoken gentleman says it all.
