Doug Fischer's top 10 fighters since 1980 do you agree lets discuss

Anything done before 1980 doesn't count for the list

    1) Ray Leonard
    2)Pernell Whitaker
    3)JC cHAVEZ
    4)Hopkins
    5)Holyfield
    6)Hearns
    7)Hagler
    8)Manny Pacquaio
    9)ODLH
    10)Mayweather

Not a bad list...I'd swap some guys but he really got me tripping with Floyd being below two guys he defeated and guys he defeated more champions than and more title defenses and title fight wins...Also no Roy Jones, Ricardo Lopez or James Toney really got me scratching my head

I know this may rub some the wrong way but I rate Leonard very high all time, but from 1980 his record is 10-3-1...IMO he should have a loss to Hearns just like JCC should have an L to Whitaker and arguably Meldrick Taylor...also Hagler is top 5 all-time as far as middleweights but his resume isn't as deep as some try to make it out to be and truth be told, Hearns even though he lost to both won titles @ 5 weights, got screwed out of a win over SRL and fought waaaaay more fights than they did after 1980

    1)Roy Jones
    2)Floyd Mayweather
    3)Pernell Whitaker
    4) Ricardo Lopez
    5)Pacquaio
    6)Hopkins
7)Evander Holyfield(I doubt we'll ever see another fighter be undisputed champ at cruiser and heavyweight)
    8)Julio Cesar Chavez
    9)Tommy Hearns
    10)James Toney

Great list, is my opinion Leonard is the best fighter ever and Duran is a very close second.

Floyd and ODH are interchangeable with Manny rightfully bring ranked above both of them.

    Very good and unbias list.

My only problem is Hopkins at 4. He doesn't belong above Floyd and manny who have fought superior comp.

1 leonard- wins over benitez, duran, hearns, hagler

2 floyd- best of his generation, going on 17 years as a world champion p4p guy

3 manny- amazing run thru weight classes

4 roy jones- simply the most amazing but resume thin compared to other greats

5 pernell- his eras willy pep.. Absolute master

6 Hagler- early 80s marvin was an absolute beast, could box or brawl, granite chin

7 Evander- GOAT cruiser, 3 time world champ, wins over foreman, bowe, tyson, mercer

8 Spinks- lightheavy kingpin in the deepest 175 era ever, legit world champ dethroning ATG

9 Hearns- was never outboxed, GOAT 154, amazing climb thru weight classes

10 Chavez- absolute machine from 84-88. Smash mouth mexican style mixed with p4p skills

      Honorable mentions:
      Tyson
      Hopkins
      Ricardo Lopez
      Holmes
      Lennox
      Toney
      Mccallum
      Duran

RJJ missed way too many fights. Toney had long period where he looked like crap (post Jones - pre Jirov). More surprising is not seeing Tyson on there.

not at all a bad list except for fraud jr.

winning boring sd, md, and ud to out of prime fighters must not be included or mentioned on the list! besides that i'm ok with it.

I would switch RJJ and Manny and might replace Hearns with Lopez but overall a good list.

Jones was hands down the best fighter of the 90's....politics will forever play a part in boxing, so fights we may wont may not always get made...not gonna penalize him when we know he was scared of no man

Also Talent wise...he is ahead of them all....and no way do I see even Hagler beating him H2H

put it this way....do you see GGG or any other middleweight ever winning titles at 160, 168, 175 and heavyweight

its gonna take a very long time before that ever happens again

This may be just a list of his favorite fighters over the last 30 years not the best fighters but I think that list is HORRIBLE especially if we're talking about the best. Roy Jones should be added onto that list. The only two fighters I would place above Floyd are Leonard and Hearns. How is Oscar placed above him when he not only beat Oscar, he beat guys who also beat Oscar? I know someone will say the guys were past their prime but so was Floyd. Not only did he beat Manny he beat the guy who beat Manny. And Hagler should be above Holyfield even though Holyfield is way more popular I think Hagler overall was a more well rounded fighter.
