Comments Thread For: Canelo: Three Years Ago I Knew I Could Beat Cotto

Mexico’s Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs), 25-years-old, has been thinking about fighting Miguel Cotto for the last three years.

On November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Canelo will get the opportunity when he challenges Cotto (40-4, 33KOs) for the WBC middleweight championship at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

I've known that too. That's pretty much how long Canelo has been trying to fight him.

He could have. Weight-drained is a whole new story. Floyd threw only a couple of rights, jabs, hugs. Never even a scratch on Canelo´s white skin. Let´s have a rematch at the full weight. GGG also will accept being weight-drained but Floyd preferred a tomato can named Berto?? Hahahahaha.

He is so hyped up he beat the top two 154 pound fighters in his division. Including the guy who embarrassed Cotto in front of his crowd. Once Canelo ends Cotto's career he still won't get his props.I'm not a Canelo fan but the kid backs up his shi$ and is willing to fight who ever. Which is rare in our sport today.

For the very reasons you have stated, are the same reasons people don't like him. For lack of a better word, I'm going to use a word I cannot stand. They are called haters. And it's unfortunate.

The Kid stands for everything that's right in the sport and people still found reasons to dislike him.
