So "TBE" is so good and has had such huge pay days that he's earned the right to fight a chump like Andre Berto??? I kinda don't get it. Lol I'm not gonna act like he hasn't beaten everyone he had to but I'm also not gonna act like Berto is a legit contender after seeing him get spanked so many times. Ortiz, Guerrero both whooped him and then Floyd whooped them. The soto karas fight was the nail on the coffin imo for Berto as a top Welterweight. Then he barely beat bum ass Josesito Lopez. This fight is pathetic, let's be real. Nobody is butthurt, this is just a weak fight for "TBE" like y'all like to call him. Idc though, so much more going on in boxing that couldn't careless what Floyd does. But saying he earned the right to fight was funny to me.

          This post is more balanced.

I agree with most of this.

Berto is a very poor opponent for Mayweather, dont know how anyone can justify it.

But I do agree that Mayweather can do whatever he wants, it wouldn't matter who his last opponent was, it would change nothing.

          But.....

Who excuses them? Why is that the standard for Floyd Mayweather? Oh well these other guys did it so it's ok. Mayweather, as he likes to remind us, is supposed to be on a higher level.

              This ^^

Mayweather is not " supposed " to be on a different level..... Mayweather IS on a different level.

There is no excuse for Berto.

Mayweather has been attacked by the fans, and most writers, for picking Berto - viewed as a humongous underdog. Berto, although a former WBC/IBF welterweight champion, is 3-3 in his last six fights, and two of the opponents who defeated him - Robert Guerrero and Victor Ortiz - were already soundly beaten by Mayweather.

Floyd is not retiring. Just stop it. He will be back after Berto. With his style he cant fight for 5 more years successful. He rarely throws punches, engages or gets hit.

Yeah but he is too damn good to go out with a Weak Opponent to be honest. He easily beats any Welterweight in Boxing because he is just head and shoulders above the rest.

I think he should have went for the Unification of the Welterweight Division and fought Kell Brook which I am sure would have draw some critics as well but it is a Undefeated Younger Fighter with a World Championship

Who Cares, he has his ERA, he dominated it thoroughly and now it is time for the next ERA in Boxing and it leaves that next ERA with so many possibilities and potential big match ups at Welterweight

Earn the right? He's never gotten respect before Berto. Why the *** should he get it with Berto.

All his fights were cherry picked. Especially after his fake ass retirement. So is Berto any differnt? No!
