And really? Comparing Canelo to Pac? C'mon, I guess you were being sarcastic, because even the casuals won't make such ridiculous comparisons.
I think he was referring to Cotto quitting in both fights. The fact is that at the point both of those fights were stopped Cotto was a bloody mess and had nothing left, made no sense for the fights to continue.

I feel this will be a more strategic fight than most think. Canelo is crafty & patient beyond his years & I feel like the winning strategy for Cotto doesn't exactly beg for a war either. Hope I'm wrong cuz if this fight is big & GGG can get a big impressive W I'm curious what the hype for Canelo/Cotto vs GGG can bring for boxing in 2016.

So much of the hyping of this fight has piggybacked off the, "not gonna be boring like Mayweather-Pacquiao." I think the fight, and the fans that are all in on this being an all action affair are being set up for a complete buzz kill. Neithet of these guys are "go to war" type fighters. Both are boxer/punchers that fight at a very controlled pace. Both can certainly be aggressive at times. But Cotto has a tendacy to get on his bicycle once he's hurt in a fight. And Canelo is notorious for fighting in spurts. I don't either is gonna be able to titally neutralize the other the way Floyd did Manny. But I don't think this fight is gonna draw Corrales-Castillo I comparisons either.

You missed the point. Cotto didn't quit against Margarito or Pac, in both cases the fight was stopped, but Cotto was still game to continue even with the bloody mess. Then lets remove Pac's name from the discussion, because Canelo is no Pac. Now lets look at the Margarito fight, before it gets to the stoppage what did Margarito endure to get to that point? Is Canelo going to get dominated for most of the fight, take big shots through out, then miraculously start hitting harder? So, his implication was Canelo would affect Cotto the same way Pac and Margarito did, then you are saying Canelo is like Pac and Margarito yet Canelo doesn't do anything either of those fighters do.

People always want to bring up Margaritto and Pac, but don't want to talk about all the other fights that Cotto walked through fire and came out victorious, why? Because it doesn't support their bias point of view. Mosley, Judah, Quintana, Torres, Corley, Bailey, Pinto, Ndou, Sosa, and Maussa, all power punchers that didn't do to Cotto what Margarito and Pac did.

Cotto has never been in a boring fight.

Cotto is not going to war with Canelo! That really is Canelo's fight, and that's exactly what Freddie will NOT allow. Cotto will be watching the Mayweather tape, and that will be the blueprint. The question is: has Canelo learned to box since the Mayweather fight? We'll soon find out.

Big fights like this almost never live up to the hype. Its not gonna be all-out-war, GattiWard-esque like most expect, ppl set themselves up for disappointment. Lets not forget that these are 2 experienced fighters and both will be cautious of the other. Itll have its exchanges but expect em to be short and fast exchanges. This wont be a brawl, itll be a boxing match with the sweet science full on display. Cotto will look to box and counter with Canelo playing the role as the aggressor. Cottos not gonna want to get into long exchanges with Canelo and hes not gonna want to give Canelo too many oppurtunities for them either.
