Golovkin's team should quit mentioning Ward until he's finished with Lemieux and Cotto/Canelo winner, the way Mayweather's team stopped talking about Golovkin when he decided to go the Berto route for his last fight.

Golovkin's not looking to move up and campaign as a SMW. If he beat Ward, he'd move back down to 160. Golovkin has his MW titles. He wouldn't be using the SMW title as a marketing ploy like Cotto's been doing with the MW title. Cotto needs to do that because he can't win a JMW title. Trout showed him the truth.

Of course now that Kovalev is waiting for him he says he won't move up until he's a full-fledge LHW.....

Come on man, Team Golovkin really needed both of those excuses ?

If they dont intend to fight Ward because he is so shht that he will make Golovkin look sooooo good..... then they wont need the catchweight excuse, right?

He fought Rubio, Murray, Geale, Macklin, all legit middleweight fighters.
I don't expect Cotto to fight GGG cuz he is too small, canelo on the other hand is a possibility..

As for ward, he is 6'1 much the same size as Kovalev.
GGG is a skinny 5'10 1/2!
