Floyd has a lotta belts. If fighting him is so important. Gennady should drop down to 147 or 154 and fight the necessary eliminators to become Floyd's mandatory. There's precedent. Back in 04-05, Floyd went to Arturo Gatti's division. Fought Henry Bruseles and "Chop Chop" Corley in eliminators to force Gatti into a fight that he nor his trainer wanted to take. GGG can do the same.

He probably would if Floyd was legally bound to face him but given he hasn't defended at 154 once, that's a pipe dream

He never said he'd drop down to 154 for just anybody, only for the big names. But any of these guys wanna challenge him at MW, he was open for business. Ditto 168, if you make it worthwhile to him, he'd go up, but its a moving target since his price is going up rapidly, as he becomes Ppv and sells record tickets. Too bad Ward said no back when he was the A side, he just keeps losing leverage

So if he's never defended the 154 title. How is GGG any different from any other jr middleweight Floyd hasn't fought since winning the titles?

He's not, except insofar he's a much bigger star than Lara, Andrade etc. Like Naazim says, it's a super fight. Hagler, Mancini said similar things. Nobody is saying that about the SWW contenders vs Floyd. Not that Floyd shouldnt fight those guys, he should being the champ.

Creating several alts with different IP's doesn't make your point of view anymore popular.

              • I think Floyd fights Golovkin only if he can make May/Pac money.

                I don't blame him.

Golovkin says he'll only go to 154 for Floyd.

                I don't blame him either.

I understand all that...as I told Einstein in the post above...boxing will ALWAYS be a sport in my eyes...I was just making a sarcastic mockery of the bs system in the sport when it comes to A and B sides

as boxing fans we should be able to voice our opinions on the bs that ****ing up our sport...whenever there's a bs decision we scream ROBBERY...whenever we see a fighter avoiding a fight he should take we scream DUCKING...so GGG being able to dictate terms to the 2nd best fighter on the P4P list is bs in all CAPS!!

With the current system, a flavor of the week, month or year can dictate terms to a less popular but more accomplished fighter...you cool with that?!?...I'm not!!....since this concerns GGG and Ward we'll use these two as an example

GGG been smashing borderline bums in impressive fashion...he was NEVER in a fight that boxing brains thought he'd lose due to the caliber of opposition he's been matched against....he smiles and gives a thumbs up sign and pose for pics....network nuthugging and match making made him popular among a large portion of the boxing heads

Meanwhile, Ward been fighting and beating ALL the top fighters in his division and snatching all the belts and trophies...making him one of the three best fighters in the sport

There's no reason the sport's system should allow him to be dictated to by any flavor of the month or year....it's a disgrace to the sport and fans!!...I know how the A and B side **** works, I just don't agree with it...GGG should be taking orders from EVERY and ANY elite level fighter imo...Cotto has accomplished more and has the right to move GGG to whatever weight he wants if they fight....but GGG shouldn't have the right to move Ward anywhere....that's my stance/belief and ALL logical heads should agree

The current system is BS and you know it...Maravilla should've been the A side when he fought Jr.....I have no interest in hearing about who drew what...my only interest is who beat who and when....that's all!!...that business **** is for the cats who get to eat from it....I don't care about splits, purses or ratings...IMO that extra **** is just a distraction and it gives fighters excuses to avoid tough rumbles...my 2 pennies!!

                  • Boxing would be so much better without all of these belts. It would also be better if fighters weren't signed to exclusive contracts with certain networks. Finally, it would be better if top fighters were forced or mandated to fight at least 3 to 4 times per year. With Floyd fighting twice a year for the past 3 years and having a two year layoff with some other slow years, it's easy to skip/duck opponents. You can't possibly fight everyone if you only fight once or twice a year. I want to see the big names fight every quarter and on any station. That is the one reason why I love PBC, because you see guys that have fought on the big networks and now they fight on stations like SpikeTv. I just wished that the fighters on HBO could also fight on those stations and vice versa with the Haymon fighters. They should be able to fight on HBO too. I'm afraid there's nothing that can be done about ho many times a fighter fights per year because they can say that they are injured, considering walking away from the sport, etc. I think the only way to make fighters fight more is to make them a considerable drop in their rankings. A drop from number 3 to 15, takes them out of the top 10 and put them out of contention to fight for a title, as well as a drop in pay (in a perfect world). The main boxing organizations rules shouldn't contradict each other as much as it does and they need to eliminate a lot of these titles. I'm more of a fan of the 140 - 168 weight division and only know the stars in the lower weight classes. When you look up to see whose the champion in each weight division, it's difficult to figure out who is the Real champion of the division.

I'm sorry, I'm just ranting. Big Mayweather fan who got money riding on Berto.

Like I said, Ward would get bossed around hard by Chavez, who's less accomplished and far less talented than Ggg. It's not fair, but that's boxing for you. If you can't stand it, find a fairer sport to follow cause this is not changing. Like Floyd says, its prize fighting
