That is exactly right !WBC and lineal light heavyweight champion Adonis "Superman" Stevenson (26-1) is currently in the middle of his training camp for his September 11th clash against Tommy Karpency (25-4-1). The fight takes place in Toronto, Ontario and will be part of Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions series and serve as the main event of the Spike TV televised card.

I like Kovalev, but Stevenson is on point here.....
Team Kovalev talked utter shht, and then ducked out the back door at the very first opportunity.
No idea why, but Stevensons thoughts could be correct on the matter.
Maybe they did play him against HBO.
Anyway, it doesnt matter why......
* Kovalev called Stevenson a piece of shht
* Kovalev called Stevenson a coward for moving to Shotime
* Duva admitted that the Shotime deal was in Stevensons best interest
* Duva pulled out of a purse bid
* Kovalev then prcoeeded to to the exact same thing that he abused Stevenson for doing..... killing the fight by signing an exclusive TV deal
Funny shht !
The most relevant comment in that article.....
" thats why they have a purse bid "
Technically, neither fighter ducked..... but if anybody is going to throw stones at all, then it shouldnt be at Stevenson.
This pandering to HBO is mindless rubbish.Comment

You just cant stop keeping it real.
Good poster !
If anybody should get the blame, it certainly shouldnt be Stevenson.Comment

And yet..... still MILES better than middleweight.Neither fighter is fighting the best guys out there. Kovalev beat "has Jesus' beeper number" Hopkins and "I'd rather model" Cleverly. Pascal was a good win but he's getting up there in age. Adonis beat "clumsy ass" Bika and "sad Chad" Dawson. Fonfara might be the best fighter either guy has beaten which makes my point. It's a sad situation in the Light Heavyweight division.Comment

There will be two guys participating in that fight..... so if Stevenson lasts 9 rounds, then Kovalev better have one hell of a chin himself my friend.Comment

Agreed, he is no spring chicken.
I think he is 38 or something ?
The longer it takes to happen, then likely the more it favors Kovalev.
I still think its a 50/50 fight.
A difficult style matchup to pick for sure.
Kovalev has developed nicely. Early next year would be ideal for this.
Purse bid, winner gets the glory, loser keeps quiet, just like always.Comment

not even people in montreal (his hometown) care anymore. thats why he is fighting in some mediocre arena in toronto.
if he were more popular he could easily sell out air canada centre. a much better more well known toronto venue. what a joke. i hope his popularity completely collapses for good.Comment
