I kinda failed to address your point, which I agree with. I'm just numb to any internet BS from biased fans. What I was trying to say is that convoluted negotiations are always going to be a part of the game. Sports fans are idiots, so this is nothing new.

Politics like we're seeing having always been a part of the sport. The difference is now a days thanks to social media, fans are privy almost instantly to insides of the politics. That and we have NSB to come and spaz about it.

Solid point. I think all this negotiation talk might be a byproduct of all the politics, promoters & alphabet groups that prevent so many fights that talking about what happens when fighter A vs fighter B meet in the ring & who'll almost 100% not be fighting within the next 12 months is less interesting than talking about all aspects of why fighter A isn't fighting fighter B & a more worthwhile discussion.

The blame almost always goes on the fighters, but I think most of the blame is on alphabet groups & promoters. Boxers are seemingly the ones with the less power in the sport of the 3 groups.

There is some metric of a fights importance involved in this too. The potential fight of Ward vs GGG is WAYYYYYYY more interesting than the actuality of GGG vs Lemieux. I mean if talks of Guerrero vs some random cat got more attention than GGG vs Lemieux there would be something weird going on.

I agree. But if you read comments from the GGG fans they seem to prefer that he stay and fight Lemieux at 160 instead of Ward at 168. And they also state that Ward isn't a draw and nobody wants to see or talk about him.

Everybody gots an opinion about all kinds of ****. Doesn't change the fact that the talk of Ward vs GGG is more appealing to most fans than the reality of GGG vs Lemieux.

I never cared much for the negotiation part of the game but they have become 80% of the headlines.
