- GGG's still looking for a major showcase scalp.
- Ward universally recognised as the top man at SM.
Due to the Super6 Ward's resume contains the names of the best at the time, which he beat convincingly. He's been off the circuit for a long time but there's little doubt he dominates 167.
Who's on GGGs resume? Geale, Macklin, Murray, Stephenson? A bunch of "nearly but not quite" contenders. Don't get me wrong, I think G's fantastic but he's yet to go near someone of Ward's calibre.

Relax. Unification with Lemieux next, Canelo for all the belts after. Once Golovkin takes care of business in his own weight class, a Ward fight will make all the sense in the world. Right now it doesn't. That's why you hear his coach & Leoffler talking about "A-Side" and catch weights. They are in a position where they aren't going up in weight with a potential Canelo/Cotto clash one fight away. Plus, Ward just came back to boxing with a tune up against Paul Smith. It's absolutely beneficial for him to have another fight or two and get back into the spotlight.
This fight is going to happen. 50/50 purse split or close to it at the full 168 pounds.

aint this a b-tch.. when guys like floyd and cotto play the A side card, they are cowards.. when pacquiao and ggg play the game they are warriors just making business moves.

Team GGG: "What?, Lara's team never reached to us."
Team Lara: "Yes we did. Lara (himself) calling GGG out in public."
Team GGG: "Ehhh, who the hell is Lara, has no name, no pull". (went and fought Monroe)
B-Hop: "You know what?, I'll fight GGG @ 168."
Team GGG: "Ehhhh, this is a fight we MIGHT consider later on." (dude is 50+ yrs lmao)
Ward: "Team GGG needs to keep my name out of their mouths, if they have no intention of fighting me, when I can get back in a ring."
Team GGG: "Heck, we fight Ward, that's the fight we really want."
Ward: "Ok legal issues resolve, signed w/ RN, will have a fight to take rust of @ 172, then I want GGG at 168."
Team GGG: "We the A side, we the A-side, Ward has no say, we'll do it @ 164, we A-side."
